Calling All Golfers for a Good Cause

Date Set for 34th Annual Rotary Golf Classic

The Rotary Club of Weston and Title Sponsor Freedland Harwin Valori Ryan, PL (FHV) are excited to host the upcoming 34th Annual FHVLegal.com Golf Classic benefiting the Rotary Club of Weston’s scholarship fund. This fun day of golf and fellowship will take place Friday, April 9th, at The Club at Weston Hills.

The prestigious tournament sells out quickly, so golfers should act quickly to secure a spot to play the magnificent Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed course with friends and area business and civic leaders. Both the Tour Course and the Players Course will be utilized. In addition to green fees and course play, the day includes a socially distant, outdoor breakfast, shirts and merchandise, on-course beverages, games, foursome photos, raffles, prizes, an outdoor awards banquet with an open bar, and a wonderful time for a good cause. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rotary Club of Weston is following all CDC guidelines, including social distancing efforts.

“Thanks to the support of our sponsors, golfers, Rotarians, and community leaders, the Rotary Club of Weston has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships over the years,” says Andy Suarez, the Rotary Club of Weston’s 2021 Golf Tournament Chair. “Exceptional seniors from Sagemont School, Cypress Bay and Western High Schools, and the HANDY program are the reason we do this. The proceeds from the FHVLegal. com Rotary Golf Classic and the March 18th Drawdown Party allow us to award full, four-and two-year scholarships to local high school students.”

“This event is very personal to me, as Freedland Harwin Valori Ryan, PL has been serving as the Title Sponsor for 14 years,” says Michael Freedland, founding partner of the Freedland Harwin Valori Ryan, PL, and leader of the Title Sponsorship. “We are pleased to be part of an event that helps local students further their education. We hear from the students, some of them years later, about their successes and how their scholarship from the Rotary Club of Weston helped them achieve their dreams.”

Freedland, a longtime Weston resident, is a former president of the Rotary Club of Weston and previously chaired the event for many years. This is the 14th consecutive year that FHV is serving as the Title Sponsor of the event.
