Get in the Holiday Spirit in Weston!

By Jon Duka

The holiday season is in full swing and there is a strict “no Grinch allowed” policy in the city of Weston! You and your family can get into the spirit of the season at the many holiday-themed events taking place around town this month.

Be sure to bring your dancing shoes to the Weston Town Center on December 4th. Dance the night away at a free outdoor dance party featuring music from the 1970s! This event is sponsored by the Weston music society and takes place from 8:00 pm till 10:00 pm.

The Weston Town Center will host its annual Craft and Talent Show on December 5. All ages will enjoy live performances of traditional holiday music, art, and crafts. The festivities take place from noon till 6:00 pm.

Like so many snowbirds, Santa Claus will be spending a lot of time in Weston this season, visiting Weston Town Center on select weekends. He will be hosting children on Dec 3,4,5,10,11,17 and 18 between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm.

Angie Paulson, Director of Marketing at Weston Town Center, invites the entire community to join the celebrations. “Our goal is to bring everyone together and, hopefully, forge a sense of community between Weston residents. These family-friendly events encourage attendees to enjoy themselves and, in turn, appreciate the amazing community they have here in Weston.” Cypress Bay High School will host a pair of holiday concerts on December 15 and 16. Both concerts start at 7:00 pm. Performances will be from the Cypress Bay High School Chorus under the direction of Brad Franks and the Jazz and Concert Bands under the direction of Brett Dawson. Their talented singers and musicians will perform holiday music from around the world.
