ABOUT BROWARD LGBTQ Broward County Fort Lauderdale is a tropical paradise. The city offers gay beaches, nude beaches and sultry swimming pools at exclusively gay resorts. Gay bars and clubs cater to everyone from bears to softball players to singles looking for a quiet lounge atmosphere for a date. Taking a break from the pool and beach? The Riverwalk arts and entertainment district in downtown Fort Lauderdale is a must-see. The Riverwalk is also called Florida’s ‘most beautiful mile. ‘ If you are inclined, there is golf, performing arts, a 3D IMAX theater, and museums as well as nature centers and Butterfly World. Shopping is a popular pastime for gay visitors. The hottest spots include Las Olas Boulevard’s unique shops and cafes and the diverse and fun Festival Flea Market. With so many great options to choose from, Fort Lauderdale will be a very memorable experience indeed.

ABOUT MIAMI LGBTQ Miami Miami is more than glittering golden tans and speedos under bulging biceps. Like any big city, Miami has its fair share of urban sprawl; so you’ll want to concentrate your time on where gay establishment proprietors centered their time: South Beach--with occasional forays to attractions elsewhere. Technically not part of Miami at all, but rather of the city of Miami Beach, South Beach--or SoBe, as per its locals--is where the party’s at. And with one of the world’s greatest concentrations of beautiful people and sundrenched beaches, what a party it is. Start the day off with a stroll down Ocean Drive, where you’ll pass restaurants, bars, and clubs on one side and the sandy beach and rolling waves on the other. Follow in the footsteps of celebrities, including some of the world’s most sought-after fashion models. If shopping’s your game, then take a turn onto Lincoln Road, whose open-air mall is sure to make your mouth water and your credit card shudder. Once you’ve had your fill, drop your bags off at your hotel, and prepare yourself for one of the hottest nights out you’ll ever experience. 3

GOOD FOR BSINESS U S I NESS GOOD FOR BU Protecting LGBTQ Americans from Discrimination is Good for Business Business leaders know that protecting every American from discrimination is good for the economy. Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender adults have a combined buying power of $884 billon dollars, and business leaders know that today’s generation of consumers prefer to shop at businesses that support gay and transgender people. Business leaders across the nation are leading the charge to secure nondiscrimination protections for gay and transgender people. Fairness for All Hardworking Americans • Gay and transgender people are our neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family. Hardworking Americans deserve to be treated fairly and equally under the law. Sadly, too many hardworking Americans are facing discrimination in areas like employment, housing and public accommodations, just because they are gay or transgender. • America is a land of opportunity and freedom, where people who work hard and meet their responsibilities have the chance to get ahead. Everyone deserves the freedom to achieve the American Dream, including gay and transgender citizens. Respecting Our Coworkers and Getting the Job Done • What’s most important is focusing on what we have in common, taking pride in our work, respecting our coworkers, serving customers, and getting the job done. • Employees should be judged on their qualifications, experience, and the job they do – nothing more, nothing less. Non-Discrimination Protections Are Good for Business • Business leaders across the nation, including conservative leaders, agree: Discrimination is bad for business. Today’s top job creators seek states and communities that are welcoming to everyone, including their families, employees and customers. • When every American is given the opportunity to work hard and earn a living, our economy, communities and nation succeed.
