ABOUT LGBTQ+ Boston Boston is often referred to as a “town” because, for a city of its size, it feels more accessible than a large city. In fact, many residents find it enjoyable to walk from one end, say Fenway Park all the way to the Waterfront and Seaport District across the city. There’s a lot of history in Boston and it seems like there’s a world class university around every corner. The Boston gay bar and club scene is scattered throughout town, but the South End, Tremont Street, and Bay Village are the traditional LGBTQ-Friendly neighborhoods. It’s a pleasant area for walking, touring, shopping, and exploring what Boston has to offer. Boston is also home to the Museum of Contemporary Art, and Newbury Street offers world-class shopping and dozens of fine art galleries, not to mention the best sports teams in the nation. Boston, like most other cities, has fallen victim to rising prices and gentrification, which has left the city more welcoming to families and tourists alike. However, Providence and Provincetown are never too far away if you desire a little more adult excitement.
