ABOUT SEATTLE LGBTQ Seattle Seattle is a lively urban city surrounded by incredible natural beauty. Located in Puget Sound, in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle is surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests, encompassing thousands of acres of parkland (hence its nickname, “Emerald City”). The city is home to a thriving tech industry and is home to the Headquarters of both Microsoft and Amazon. Seattle is an area that has grown increasingly popular over the last two decades. In addition to its reputation as the espresso cart capital of the world, Seattle also has a dining scene that features acclaimed local chefs and internationally recognized cuisine. The city is extremely multicultural and is influenced by the Pacific Rim in art and architecture. The city offers residents a pace of life that can be either relaxed or fast paced and entrepreneurial. The futuristic Space Needle, a legacy of the 1962 World’s Fair, is its most recognizable landmark.
