The do’s and don’ts of cotton face mask


The National Department of Health has recommended that all Indians wear cloth face masks when they are in public. However, the minister has emphasized that a cotton face mask is not the primary method of preventing COVID-19. It remains secondary to the most effective preventive measures, which are:

The government has shared the following 10 guidelines on how to use and clean a cotton face mask for sale: 1. Only use a mask that has been washed and ironed. 2. Wash your hands before putting the mask on. 3. Place the mask with the correct side to your face and make sure that it covers your nose and mouth properly. 4. Tie the strings behind your head, or, if you are using elastic bands, make sure these are tight. 5. Make sure it fits well. Move it around to get the best fit. Never touch the cloth part of the mask once you’ve put it on. 6. Once you have put on the mask, do not touch your face again until you take it off. 7. When you take it off, untie the strings or slip the elastic bands over your ears. Carefully fold the mask inside out. If you’re not going to wash it immediately, put it in a special container reserved for your used masks. 8. Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them before doing anything else. 9. Wash fabric masks with warm soapy water, rinse them thoroughly and iron when dry. 10. You must have at least two fabric masks so you can wash one and have a clean one ready for use.

DO wear the mask or cloth face covering whenever you go out in public. DO ensure your mask has multiple layers of tightly woven fabric and that you can breathe through it. DO make sure your mask fits snugly against your face and covers your nose and mouth with no gaps (even a tiny gap could let in particles). Don’ts

DON’T put a mask on a young child under age 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing or is unconscious, incapacitated or unable to remove the cloth face covering without assistance. DON’T use medical-grade faces mask online India, which should be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical responders per guidance from the CDC. DON’T push your mask down on your chin to eat or drink. Remove it completely, perform hand hygiene, and then put it back on snugly when finished. DON’T wear a mask that hasn’t been cleaned thoroughly, or that is soiled, torn, saturated, damaged or has any distortions in shape or form.
