Welcome
Welcome to this year’s installment of The Direction! We can’t thank those enough for their past support and belief in what we are trying to accomplish and where we’ve been heading over the last few years. The group of cattle within these pages has been a labor of time and effort to get to this point and its with great anticipation we share them with you!
As Ben and I reflect over the past few years it’s been a goal to not only create cattle that we trust and believe in but foster relationships and customer success that sees the fruits of our effort. The past two sets of cattle have found numerous backdrop and success stories but of more value, have created a platform for us to show you The Direction we prefer to take cattle.
We are on a constant trajectory around here to push toward cattle that balance power and structure to a degree that propels them toward generating potential. We care about their feet, their skull and the fact that behind them are lines of females that have been successful in their respected eras.
As both our families grow and continue to root our footing in the cattle industry, we hope you know that our focus is on the product and its impact for their respected future owners.
As always, please feel free to reach out about the offering with any questions and swing through anytime to view the largest and deepest set of cattle to date.
It’s our hope you find value in The Direction!
Regards,
TWENTY TWENTY-FOUR

Lot1 KR Casino PVF 9114 (Inauguration)
These three sisters that anchor the start of our sale are all a little different, and yet each one comes with tremendous quality! If you were through early, Lot 1 is farm tag 14M. I’m not sure you can put together a better build in a front knee and shoulder and still get the elevation this female has. It’s rivaled by the length of her spine and ability to maintain a bold and soft rib cage. Her feet, density, and build give her the needed additives that make her the reason she’s Lot 1! These females are maternal sisters to the high selling heifer at PVF for Alan Miller last spring and out of 9114 which he owns with Genflo. Their Vegas sired sister commanded $140,000 this past March. The resulting progeny that are being offered come from an embryo purchase – because of that we are keeping ½ Interest in this one as we aren’t sure we could replicate this again.
Lot2 KR Casino PVF 9114 (Inauguration)
ANGUS // DOB 02.2024 // HEIFER
The second sister is built in the image of Casino. She’s husky, bold built, and beautiful headed. I love the fact that her proportions match perfectly and are in concert with her added punch and rib shape. This heifer, like her two sisters, has big soft hair and big soft feet! Retaining 1/2 embryo interest.
Lot3 KR Casino PVF 9114 (Inauguration)
When I loaded them, I was convinced that this one was the most unique Angus I would have on our place. I still think that reigns true. She’s built in the image of her mother and comes with a dead level build, smooth and sleek in her front end, and the same kind of foot quality that starts the foundation of her sisters. Retaining 1/2 embryo interest.
Lot4 PVF King Pin 410 (First Class/Right Time)
ANGUS // DOB 03.2024 // HEIFER
I was a year behind using King Pin, but Lots 4 and 5 are a result of a flush on 410, our First Class donor that is proving herself to be very predictable. Lot 4 comes with a rib cage and pin width that echoes her mother’s. She’s built organized in her skeleton and soft haired.
PVF King Pin 410 (First Class/Right Time) ANGUS // DOB 04.2024 // HEIFER
This is the sister that is built picture perfect in her look from the side. This female is beautiful in her front-end assembly, level hipped with a flexible and stable back leg. She’s extra soft haired and comes with a rib cage that fits correctly right into the back of her blade and into the base of her sternum and comes bold from there back!
Lot6
BNWZ Dignity 546
(Conversation/Genetics by Design)
ANGUS // DOB 05.2024 // HEIFER
I sure didn’t get the luck with settling 546 embryos this past Spring. This Dignity is a direct daughter of 546 and the only Angus we have ever publicly offered of this donor. 546 has proven her worth around here and it’s because of females like this. She’s correct in her build, powerful in her pin width and her neck comes right out of the top her shoulder. We re-pictured 546 this Spring as we took her to grass, check out the donor portion of the catalog when your flipping through.
Lot
7 Heir To The Throne BDR
LOW CHI // DOB 05.2024 // STEER
I’m going to stick the steers in between breeds to break things up a bit. This red steer is an absolute unit of a Southern-sized one, if you’re looking. This calf is a true May and his density is really starting to come. His rib cage, back shape, and power from behind is so bold that power guys won’t find issue. The best part is, it hasn’t pulled on his skeleton one bit!
New Limits
RJ Lady Killer (Broker/Harrietta)
The Chi division is a little deeper this year and is led by a female whose mating doesn’t need much introduction. This New Limits x Lady Killer is a full sister to many different champions including the champion Low Chi at Junior Nationals shown by Hadley Hartman. We also sold a sister to the Gullickson family last fall, pictured here - they took her out once and then made her a cow! All the things that make Lady Killer so impressive, she’s got it! Huge, flexible feet and legs. Bold bodied and a wild amount of presence and look!
Lot9 Do Whats Right
Master
This grey Do What’s right is one steer generating bred rig. She’s got a skeleton that’s loose and stout. Her pin set is big and her presence is undeniable. I love the fact that she’s built like a long term breeding heifer with the added parts to make a colored donor in a world that is searching, The fact that she goes back to Slider should keep the rat tails away when bred to black bulls!
Back to the steers for a quick minute. If you like bone, look, and build then this Here for Good x 606 is the perfect fit. He is certainly holdover sized. If you have been paying attention, you know that Brad Smith’s 606 cow has had plenty of success and predictability. I think Here for Good was a perfect match to bring a feedable look and build. A little color never hurts anything!
This female is out of Mocha, the other storied donor of Begalka’s and holds true to the things that make her mother so good. She’s awesome structured, big bodied and pinned, and balanced/organized in her skeleton. I think long-term she makes an incredible breeding piece.
Marianne 231 needs little introduction. She’s been a main stay for Begalka and Hoffman. I bet if you look back at Hoffman’s sale that just happened, there are a couple sisters to this female that commanded value. This Arlo daughter’s pigment is awesome. Her bone and dimension will be unrivaled and she comes with a balanced and killer look!
It is very hard to create a Here I Am who’s body shape and structure says mash the clutch and give it the high gear. This thing’s rims are built for speed and his feet are perfect. Big haired, wild looking, and absolutely square backed and pinned. I think very highly of this calf, and I think you will too! He will bleed Maine-Anjou!
I think the Red Angus breed has all the body and performance you could ever ask for. With that said, the sort is in motion and this heifer should have a distinct advantage. She’s perfect in her knee and shoulder, and her stability and reach out of her rear skeleton is hard to rival. A little different bred on the top side and one unique Red Angus female that is smooth as glass and built to last!
15 Here I Am Monopoly
This Here I Am x Monopoly is built to feed – and I believe he can handle plenty of fights! His feet are big, hard, and the right shape. His bone density and flexibility should move him past the toughest critics, and his pin width and organization throughout his front end, to me, says late state fair. He will bleed Chi!
Lot16 Family Tradition Relentless/High Regard
I am very proud of the female that leads the percent Simmental division. This heifer represents the 4th generation of a female line that resides here at our place. Her mother is a full sib to Heritage, and she traces her female lines all the way back to 3028 - a LNL/8543 we own with RJ and Plamp. Her power-to-structure ratio is one of the best in the sale. Her balance and look will come in clutch!
Lot17
SAM Who Da Man
% SIMMENTAL // DOB 04.2024 // HEIFER
This SAM came in from the co-op skinny. She’s finally fetching, and I think it’s going to be real good. She’s wild looking, ultra flexible, and big haired. The combination of SAM and Who Da Man sounds perfect to feed and still give you a look that will stand out in the Simmental show ring! She’ll paper low Chi, as well.
Lot

Vantage Point Brillance/Steele Force
When Ben leased Vantage Point, I didn’t realize how impactful he would be for us. He created a big group of keeper heifers down South, and I yanked this one off the top for a reason. Her mother is a Brilliance/Steele Force that if you close your eyes and picture the perfect Simm-Angus half blood cow, you’ll see her. This female is a 5/8s and pays homage to the cattle that made Simm-Angus so sought after!
Lot
19 Trust Fund RJ 422 (Broker/Angus/Harrietta)
Obviously Trust Fund was a commanding highlight of Embryos On Snow two years ago, and this heifer proves why. This full face baldy combines Lady Killer with 422. A direct daughter of 422, one of RJ’s donors, and she’s got all the things that makes momma great. Wild looking, extra bone and hair, and a pinch more pin width! She goes low Chi, as well!
Lot
20 How Great Thou Art RJ/Vestal 075 (Bankroll/422) % SIMMENTAL // DOB 03.2024 // STEERS
State Fair sized, awesome bred and colored, and will bleed Simmental for Junior Nationals. I’m not sure I’ve seen a more unique Simmental steer. Stout, flexible, and good looking. Breed steers that are composed like this are hard to come by!
There are two of these Bankroll sisters out of a Momentum/734 cow that has proven she has the ability to generate through multiple generations. Both these heifers are sisters to the dam of the Champion Simmental steer at both the Iowa and South Dakota State Fairs. They are a little different from each other but both very quality driven. This one has a shot of added power.

3028 is the root of our Simmental program. A High Regard daughter out of her is the mother to Heritage, that has done an incredible job for us and made his mark two sales ago. This Trust Fund daughter has all the durability and power of 3028 with a smoother shoulder, a longer front end, and a shot more hair. This matting might possibly be the best to date!
Lot24 Broker 100 (Currency/EO)
SIMMENTAL // DOB 04.2024 // HEIFER
I’m concluding the live lots with a pair of Broker sisters that are the next installment of our Donor 100. I didn’t sort this Broker semen when I made these embryos. I could say it was for some big plan, but the facts are the stuff just doesn’t sort well and I wanted as many embryos as I could get.
I’m glad I did because I sent a brother to both these heifers to Hartmann this fall. I have complete faith in 100 and these two heifers echo all the things that make her impressive.

It’s no secret Werning genetics have dominated for a long time. Show ring success and modern demand started with what has become one of the most consistent cows in the breed, 8543. Very few chances exist to capture some of the first matings of where it all started - 3028 is just that! A direct daughter of Lock N Load and 8543, and a flush mate sister to Bullseye. She is easily one of the most consistent generators of that mating alongside Angel, that sits within the donor battery of JW Cattle. When we had the opportunity to grab partnership with RJ and Plamp, we jumped at it. We’ve been in love with Big Red since she was a calf. It is extremely hard to combine the amount of density and power into as sound and rugged skeleton as 3028. She’s truly unmatched that way. She’s the mother to Rose, the donor dam of Heritage whose first heifer calf crop averaged over $11,000.00 - including a top of $36,000.00 in the Fall of 2022. Her daughters have found success as show cattle, and as donors from multiple operations. Power is back in play and so it elevates the value of this featured mating!

“This is the most recent acquisition to the donor battery here and another piece to a puzzle that we were after to make purebred seedstock! A direct daughter of Bankroll and out a Wheelman cow that originally was sold as choice by the Own Brothers in Missouri. 134B, her mother, was acquired by RJ a few years back for a little over $20,000.00 for half.

Before we lost Heritage’s mother, we were only able to create one daughter and that is 103H. I haven’t pictured her yet because she was a first calf heifer last year, and I didn’t have her in the right kind of rig that I felt really showcased the value I see in this female. 103 is perfect structured, dense in her makeup and the cleanest throated descendant of 3028 that I’ve seen myself. Her full brother Heritage made his mark for us and has been no stranger to generating quality and consistently. I look for 103 to hold up her end of the bargain!

Abbie and I ventured to Dennis Deppe’s three years ago and got a first-hand look at his sale offering. When 410, affectionately known as Faith, walked into the pen I texted Abbie, “We are buying that cow!” First Class himself needs no introduction when it comes to generating high achieving Angus genetics! Faith is backed by a cow line that is rooted by Hyline Right Time 338 that will go down as one of the strongest maternal lines in the Angus breed. Faith, herself, is big in her kind, big in her pieces, and bold in her pin width and rib cage! When I loaded 3028, 546, and 100 on the trailer to IVF to Broker, I loaded Faith too!
In breeding livestock, pushing the needle requires selection pressure toward a constantly moving goal. Small incremental changes are made by large swings of what is relevant and profitable at that moment. For us, the persistent pursuit to maximize the power-to-structure ratio of breeding cattle has always been the focus and right down the middle of the road. Sometimes not using the one deemed popular by others but what fits the desired result. All that has led us to this point; we are excited to offer a son of Heritage - making him the 4th generation we’ve been a part of!

Thank You!
