A very pretty-fronted heifer that will catch your eye for all her phenotypical features and soundness of structure. Even though she is younger heifer we are loving our females that are out of our herd sire, Loosli Hughes 437. They have great bone structure, hip design, sound udders, and are really good mothers right off the bat. CONSISTS OF RANDY & KAREN, RYAN, MARK, LAURA & MORGAN MITTENESS. THEY ARE LOCATED 9 MILES NORTH OF BENSON IN WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA. Randy has been involved in raising Angus cattle since his youth. He has had a keen eye for good cattle and won his first Livestock Judging contest when he was 9 years old. He was very active in 4-H club, served as a charter member of Benson’s FFA Chapter and was recognized as Benson’s first State Farmer Degree recipient. He traveled to Europe and Russia in 1974 on a People to People Tour with FFA. Randy and his brother Rick started registering cattle under R &R Angus lifetime membership in 1972. He served as Vice President of the MN Jr Angus Association in 1973. Upon graduation from High School Randy attended Univ. of MN Crookston and participated in their Livestock Judging Team and earned an Associate Degree in Ag. Economics. He then transferred to NDSU where he was on the Livestock and Wool Judging Teams. He is proud that he judged in Denver three years in a row and placed in the individual Top Ten of each contest. He graduated from NDSU with a degree in Animal Science in 1978 and started working as a MN Extension 30

Agent in McLeod County. In 1980 he took a job with Farm Credit Services in Ada, Minn. He spent 32 years with Farm Credit Services holding various titles. In 1994 Ryan had his first 4-H Angus heifer and steer. That is when they brought back Mitteness Family Angus. Ryan and Mark were very active in 4-H Club and FFA. They each showed the Champion Angus Heifer at the MN 4-H Show in 2005 and 2008 respectively. They were recognized as MN FFA Beef Proficiency Award Winners. Ryan received his National American Farmer Degree. They were active in the MN Jr Angus Association, received the Gold Award and especially enjoyed the show ring. They were on the Livestock Knowledge Bowl Team that took Reserve in the Senior Division at the National Jr Show in 2008. They developed a keen interest in raising cattle and have a deep commitment to continue this goal. Randy served on the MN Angus Board as a Director for two terms and as the President for two terms. He has served as a delegate to the National Angus Convention for the past ten years. He continues to be very active in his community. He is an active member of Glacial Ridge Cattleman, East Zion Lutheran Church presently Vice President, and Pope County SWCD serving as a Supervisor. He is a past Ada Borup School Board Member, Norman County Fair board member and Ada Borup Sports Booster. Mitteness Family Angus and Club Calves has expanded to 120 Angus and Crossbred cows. We host an annual sale the third week in Sept. Next year will be our 10th Annual Sale. We offer cattle for sale private treaty through-out the year as well. We moved from Ada to Benson in 2009 when we purchased Karenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s family farm. We now have 300 acres of pasture and 375 acres of cropland and hay ground. Randy retired from Farm Credit in 2012, Karen is completing her 40th year as a Registered Nurse, Ryan is working full time on the farm, Mark is employed by Glacial Plains in the Agronomy Dept, Laura is a Benson HS Math teacher and coach and we are all excited that Morgan loves to be around the action on the farm. We are grateful and humbled to represent the MN Angus Association.
