Malevo Comes to The Parker

Direct from its recent return appearance on America’s Got Talent, Malevo brings its thrilling all-male troupe to The Parker on March 9, 2023, as part of the 2022/2023 Broward Center Dance and Classical Series.

Having first taken America’s Got Talent by storm in Season 11, Malevo returned this January in a performance described by NBC as “Their high-energy, intricately choreographed Malambo dance was performed in leather outfits in front of electrifying bright orange lighting. During their performance, they whipped around ropes in perfect precision and played drums in harmony. Towards the end of the dance, they even put the ropes in their mouth in one edgy trick!”

Created in 2015 by director, choreographer, and dancer Matías Jaime, Malevo specializes in Malambo with a modern, avant-garde, and transgressive approach, merging it with other dance styles like flamenco and urban percussion.

In an interview with Broadway World, Jaime said: "We love to perform the Malambo, a traditional Argentine folk dance of great virility and dexterity. We start from its essence and roots but seek to take it beyond its limits. We keep to the purity of the dance but seek also to achieve a perfect combination, to give a complete innovative, visual, and sensory experience for our audiences."

It's an approach that ignited the stage and drew raves this year from the America’s Got Talent judges:

“I think this was perfection. Genuinely. Honestly. As good as I’ve ever, ever seen. This is the standard everyone has to be in my opinion right now, honestly. You brought beyond your A-game. - Simon

Cowell

“It is so intense, it is so…everything…. I love you guys.”

- Heidi Klum

“You are a memorable group. You brought more energy, you brought more live music, you are the perfect Act to have your own room in Vegas. I would imagine people would go and see this. And I think the super fans are gonna love you.”

- Howie Mandel

With live music and virtuosic dancing, Malevo delivers an exhilarating and engaging show that is perfect for the entire family.
