NEO SLASHER At the CAPiTA Super Corporation, we are deeply committed to research relating to the future population of Mars. We have conducted several successful interplanetary missions, and are currently scaling out more extensive flight plans. In fact, not since the golden era of space exploration have so many future astrobiology missions been planned. The primary target of the 2040 tour includes two polar ice caps in the chasmatic region of Landar, where ice particles blanket unforgiving terrain and winter lies in continuous darkness. The mission focus will not be space flight itself, as even with current technologies that is a givenâ&#x20AC;&#x201D;an afterthought of sorts. Space travel is so casual now; it's more about live in-flight entertainment once the ship pierces the atmosphere. It's still expensive though. There are no cheap drinks at the bar, which is annoying. Have you ever heard of Remy Martin Louis XIII? Probably not. So then you didn't know they make that in a limited release called Black Pearl. That's what the astronauts drink. At fifty thousand dollars a bottle I want no part of it. I like well-drinks, the bottom of the barrel. You know, the stuff with flavor. Maybe that's because I know we'll need a certain amount of grit to get where we're going. Besides, a spaceship is no place for hangovers. This journey will go well beyond the destination; this mission is about expanding mankind's potential upon arrival. To do so, we have conceptualized the first device to successfully operate on Mars. It is a hovercraft of sorts. Capable of ascent and decent and traverses long and wide. It is called the NEO SLASHER, and it isn't just the key to populating Mars but also essential to exploring its varied terrain like never before.

THE BLACK SNOWBOARD OF DEATH The sea, which had been beating against the shores, suddenly overwhelmed the barrier walls. The streets flooded and buildings were quickly submerged. In times like these, man proves no match for the ways of the world. The sea, often the placid provider of life has transitioned to taketh all, with untamable and merciless rage. A Great City, now lost to the known world. The captain looked out the window to the chaos below. Once an exclusive club for New York's elite, the 53rd floor of the building was now home to only him, his desiccated skeletal remains and a white rabbit with no name. He was now centuries old, but free from the constraints of money or age. He had discovered teleportation and time travel in the 18th century while sailing merchant ships across the North Atlantic, with an especially honed skill set in the art of levitation. As the city below disappeared into the darkness, it was time to move once again. "Rabbit, we shall take this ship an' hover above the sea until fate finally takes the heart from you and me."

KAZU KOKUBO PRO Kazu is an icon. He’s one of snowboarding’s favorite sons, embraced around the world for his sense of style and the way in which he interprets the flow of the snow and sense of what is possible. He’s a dedicated soul, continually searching for adventure and a balance in life. For 2018, his pro model graphics once again contrast his inner calling towards experience and exploration with strong values such as his love for home and family. The Core Ash Woodgrain Topsheet reflects Kazu’s connection with nature, and the monochromatic print captures the rising sun as well as the balance between conformity and rebellion. On the base, two frogs represent Kazu’s children who are surrounded by a peacock. The peacock stands as a symbol of compassion and kind-heartedness. It is believed to have the power to invoke rain and snow, and it ensures health and positivity. The frogs are also good luck symbols in Japan—especially for travelers. The Japanese word for frog is kaeru, and the same word also means to return. JESS KIMURA PRO Do you see that ladies? Behold, the sight of pure, unadulterated awesomeness. The kind of stuff that burns so bright in one's soul that there are no limits to where we can go, what we can see, and what our passions can lead us to be. The type of awesomeness that sounds like adventure, feels like freedom, and smells like a fine blend of two-stroke and Canadian maple syrup that one can only appreciate if they've ripped a dirt bike up a remote mountain trail and made a campfire breakfast with Mother Nature herself. For 2018, the Jess Kimura Pro Model celebrates one of the most accomplished professional snowboarders in the last decade, and more importantly, one of the most lovable people. Her graphic is bright and optimistic; it reflects her vision from the mountain tops and her dedication to nature. It's a little bit uncut and defiant, but always with a layer of thought and consideration for more than herself. When asked about her wish to have an otter with a chainsaw on a snowboard, her answer could very easily be a reflection of herself and the legacy she wants to leave with women's snowboarding. One of the most decorated snowboarders of this decade, Jess Kimura has swept the Transworld Snowboarding Rider’s Poll Awards multiple times. Jess has made her mark not only on women’s snowboarding but on snowboarding itself. Her fan base crosses genders and is comprised of riders from all spectrums of the sport who appreciate her gritty, sincere and hell-bent approach. As Jess is spending more time in the mountains to compliment the time she

spends in the streets, we have made a key adjustment on her model to reflect the evolution in her riding. We took her existing model and rockered the nose so that it's pre-pressed for jibbing, turns on a dime, and floats in powder with ease. This simple tweak has a big effect on its overall versatility and is an evolution that fuels her passion and your progression.

MERCURY Area 51 was well known in the interdimensional explorer's community as the premier base camp for multiverse exploration. Referred to as Paradise Ranch, it was established as a waygate during Earth’s Neolithic era. In its prime, the complex reached 80 stories underground and had everything from the latest alien spa treatments to an 800km Ultradrive race track. However, in the late 1940's the area drew interest from local sentient lifeforms. The Humans—attracted by the energy wave distortions caused by the Ranch’s waygates, constructed primitive science laboratories on top of the Ranch’s hidden main entrance hoping to study the source of the distortions. It made this destination less desirable for extraterrestrial lifeforms wanting to maintain a low profile, so the Interdimensional Explorers Club saw it as an opportunity to open a new location halfway around the world. Constructed in a hidden valley between the mountain borders of Austria, Italy, and Slovenia, the underground complex not only included all the amenities of the Ranch, but also aboveground facilities. Disguised as a manufacturing operation for the Human pastime called snowboarding, The Mothership and its adjacent Moonshot Facilities allowed patrons to test and repair their Near Space vehicles in standard atmosphere while enjoying Earth’s delicious alpine air.

To be honest, I'm starting to get nervous about this company relocation program. Custom formulated and exclusive to The Mothership, our engineers have worked tirelessly with the world's leading polyethylene running base supplier to create HYPERDRIVE™ NC12. With exceptional anti-friction properties due to high molecular mass and specialized processing aids, this sintered material has a CUSTOM CARBON component and is beyond fast. Our loyal fans charge hard, and for 2018 and beyond we have integrated the fastest, meanest base available.

Targeted toward versatility in a high-end sintered base, this running material strikes a unique and sought after balance between high performance and low maintenance. With an increased density polyethylene, these ultra high molecular weight sintered bases are more wax absorbent and allow longer time periods between waxing sessions. The ULTRADRIVE™ running base is formulated with a new blend of compressed ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene. Featuring a similar chemical composition as the HYPERDRIVE™ NC12 without the carbon, the ULTRADRIVE™ is sintered for speed yet still allows for a full color graphic on the base. This new base is faster and harder than the OMEGA™ SPEED BASE previously on these models and absorbs more wax to wick longer and ride faster.

The XXX[TRUDED] base material takes the characteristics and manufacturing techniques used in creating normal extruded base material but due to higher pressure and temperature, increases the surface hardness to levels near most sintered bases. True to all extruded bases, the HMC bases are low maintenance, user-friendly bases that perform well with or without your constant waxing and attention. The HMC Extruded is a special “higher molecular composition” base that is denser, more durable, and more abrasion resistant than standard extruded bases. The result is a hard, fast, and reliable base that will get you where you want to go faster than your friends.

The HIGH TRANSPARENT EXTRUDED base features an altered molecular composition that allows more vibrant graphic options while keeping the low maintenance and technical benefits of extrusion.

The MOONSHOT PRO-TUNE™ is an aftermarket high-performance race-base structure that wicks water from your base in 45-degree angles making these boards fast as f*#k to the lift line or to the finish line.

This mono-composite Thermoplastic is created using a Fused Deposition Process, also known as Additive Manufacturing, which yields high impact resistance at low temperatures and overall improved durability through extruded ABS custom shaped and bonded to the wood core.

1.5 mm CORK DAMPENING Damp, durable, and lighter than rubber, our CORK EDGE DAMPENING SYSTEM is placed in between the steel edge and the ABS sidewall for increase protection from blunt force impacts. The Ultrafear features this exclusive dampening system underfoot where most boards meet rails, and the Scott Stevens Pro features a full contact length system because with him, you just never know what’s going to happen.

With six Transworld Good Wood Awards in five years for the DOA series, it’s clear that the performance and value of these boards are unmatched. The Mothership is in constant progression, we don’t sit idle in the R&D lab—awards or not. FORTRESS™ KEVLAR BOUND SIDEWALLS are bonded by a Kevlar “S” wrap from the top of the sidewall to the underside of the core. This lightweight technology binds the sidewall and core material together like no other.

Technology integrated into snowboard construction affects many characteristics of a board’s performance. Flex, along with weight, stability, energy and other factors come into play when considering whether a board is right for you. Flex may be the most important as it will determine how you are able to manipulate your board on snow. Soft, flexible boards are greatfor jibbing and overall command over your snowboard, especially in the park. They’re easy to ride and very forgiving. Stiffer boards have more pop, more energy, and more stability at high speeds but they require more effort and skill from the rider as well. All boards in this catalog are rated on a scale from 1 to 10. The number given is the estimated resistance the board may provide to the average customer.

1 would be the resistance of a noodle, 10 would be the resistance of a tree trunk.

All snowboard shapes are designed with four blend zones. This is the area after the sidecut ends and before the nose or tail shape starts. In this small section, the shape of the board must transition from a sidecut arc going one direction into the tip shape arc going in the opposite direction. This critical section of the board is similar to the steering system in your car. It's the driving force in initiating turns and determining where your board is going. A poorly designed blend zone will cause your board to be hooky or turn slowly and could limit your ability to transition between edges. CAPiTA has taken the time to pay distinct attention to this detail; fine-tuning each and every board to make sure your riding experience is balanced and perfect. 131

SIDECUT

Sidecut is the arching shape that the outer rails of the board take from the wide points near the nose and tail toward the narrow point in the middle of the board. Sidecut dictates the board's turning functionality along with the personality of a snowboard.

PARABOLIC

A PARABOLIC sidecut consists of a mirror-symmetrical curve. In snowboard terms, this design creates a board with a deeper sidecut and a quicker turning point in the center compared to radial arcs.

A PROGRESSIVE sidecut consists of two or more radii blended together to accommodate the three stages of a turn. They provide easy turn initiation while offering greater control throughout the turn and maximum power when exiting. Our NEW AGE DIRECTIONAL sidecuts are progressive sidecuts, which also incorporate a reverse sidecut arc in the midsection of the board. Due to a reduced effective edge as a result of hybrid camber shapes, this reverse camber arc provides a point of contact to retain control throughout the turn and is affectionately referred to as DEATH GRIP™. A RADIAL sidecut is a single radius design that allows your board to start and finish a turn on the same arc.

BLENDED RADIAL sidecuts feature a single radius arc through the midsection of the board combined with a custom designed blend zone at the contact points. Varying the length of these blend zones and tailoring them specifically for certain aspects of riding greatly improves a board’s performance. Inspired by a combination of surfboard design and on snow riding functionality, the all new SURF BLENDED RADIAL sidecut is the ultimate powder surfing shape. This shape features a radial sidecut just through and past the inserts, followed by a huge smooth reverse blend zone and then topped off with a ton of taper. Surf the earth and get loose in the white room! Engineered for deep powder but still versatile around the mountain, this RADIAL sidecut is complemented by a TAPERED TAIL. This narrower tail section naturally sinks in the powder while the wider nose section floats above the snow line. The result is less work and more fun as the board surfs on one smooth continual arc. An ASYMMETRICAL board features different sidecut theories on each edge of the same board. For the Spring Break Asymmetrical Twin, we have implemented a large and smooth RADIAL sidecut for the toe-side edge of the board while the heel-side edge of the board features a tighter NEW AGE DIRECTIONAL sidecut with DEATH GRIP™.

With CAPiTA’s FLAT KICK design technology, we’ve tightened the tip profile radius that blends the shoulders of the board into the tip and tail height on reverse camber boards. The tight tip radius in conjunction with tuned blend zones allows you to have a forgiving and easy to ride reverse camber board that is still responsive and quick during edge to edge transitions. This also creates a flat tip and tail which increases jibbing stability and also helps the board plane on top of powder creating float and control. 133

Through rigorous testing, wild experimentation and hard-earned experience, our mad art scientists have developed new techniques that maximize each graphic’s unique potential. Our mission is to completely surpass what was once technically impossible.

Sublimation is an exact science for an inexact process. In sublimation, ink is pushed through a substrate into base material using pressure and heat. As base material is thicker and more opaque than topsheets, graphics become more vibrant when ink impregnates the material as opposed to other techniques where the ink is applied to one side or the other. Through sublimation, ink sits closer to the sliding surface and this technique excels when full colors are required. Many long nights were spent tinkering with a complex combination of cook-times, pressure and temperature in a highly controlled environment to achieve some of CAPiTA’s signature base graphics.

MULTITECH™

DEEPSPACE™ DESIGN THEORY

You don’t like shallow humans, so why would you like shallow topsheets? The DEEPSPACE™ Design Theory takes advantage of the thickness of a transparent topsheet. Strategically layering ink on multiple levels from the top and the bottom we are able to imbue our graphics with a sense of life through depth. Simple in theory, it requires an expert knowledge of ink bonding characteristics and curing times to make production efficient and technically feasible. It’s also expensive as hell, and considered to be cost prohibitive for many of our competitors.

Voltron was awesome because it was one robot made up of a bunch of other robots. Sometimes if we find utilizing a single technique just isn’t enough, we open up the armory and stack one process on top of another! Whether it’s a PAM16000™ printed topsheet with silkscreen embellishments, or a sublimated base with silkscreen and die-cut pieces, MULTITECH™ sends you further into DEEPSPACE™.

The PLT™ machine sits in a secret hidden corner of the factory behind two very unassuming, nondescript metal doors. The PLT™ is so secretive that with the exception of its inventor, Mr. Michi Kollmann, all visitors to the room must be versed in an ever-changing secret handshake. PLT™ technology is exclusive to CAPiTA MFG and magically bonds the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard. This is magical because the rest of the world mashes their topsheets on with glue, heat and pressure during the pressing stage. Doing so causes the fiberglass structure underneath to show through the topsheet. And because nobody wants to spend their hard earned cash on a bumpy snowboard, many companies slather their tops with a thick toxic lacquer to smooth things out. Not only is that shit HEAVY and can potentially develop unsightly hairline cracks, it’s also really unhealthy for the working environment. The PLT™ machine produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without all that poisonous deadweight. SCIENCE IS MAGIC, WAAAAHBAH!!
