Outi Crannell Helping Those Around Her Outi Crannell is a teacher and freelance artist who does everything she can to help people in her community and beyond. She has been a member of Putnam Arts Council since 2003 and has been volunteering with the Somers Newcomers Club since 1995. She is also a blood donor, a friend of the First Presbyterian Church in Katonah, NY's Women's Club, and a friend of Red Cross of America.

Outi Crannell was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1960. She attended Alppilan Lukio for high school and the University of Helsinki for college. During that time, she worked as a substitute Physical Education teacher, a lifeguard and group exercise instructor. She was also a Journalist in the Finnish TV- series for children "Puolinuotti". She was the Head Teacher in The Finnish School of New York from 1992-2010 and is now a freelance artist.
Outi Crannell An Artist and Program Facilitator Outi Crannell is a freelance artist and a workshop facilitator for art based programs for children and adults. Using both her passions for art and education, she has formed a comprehensive way to enrich the lives of others through creating art as well as through giving them access to programs that will help them hone their own artistic talent. Outi Crannell owes her ability to travel, in part, to her talents in photography. She has been able to visit places that would have been possible otherwise. She has come to appreciate the power in telling stories through photograph to a worldly audience.
Outi Crannell Teaching Experience Shortly after earning her Master’s in Education from University of Helsinki, Outi Crannell became the Head Teacher of The Finnish School of New York from 1992-2010. Before then, she was a group exercise instructor for 20+ years and was also an instructor for water exercise classes for children and adult non- swimmers. Now, she works as a facilitator of art-based programs for children and adults. Outi Crannell loves to read novels and self help books. Her favorite authors include Wayne W. Dyer, Christiane Northrup, Caroline Myss, Sonia Choquette, Jean Untinen-Auel and more.
