GVR Staff Build Culture of Home for Campers

Summer camp is finished for the year, but Glacier View Ranch staff members often think back to their best memories of the summer. For many, that begins with training week. Multiple icebreakers and team-building exercises break down barriers, helping to create the feeling of “home,” which was GVR’s theme.

Hannah Kern, GVR’s camp nurse intern, said the best part of training week was getting together and seeing what type of culture would be created. When the campers come, it is an amazing experience, but training week and the culture created then has the ability to make or break the rest of the summer.

GVR was blessed this year with amazing staff, and those staff members took it upon themselves to make the camp the best it could be. The staff members left camp this year knowing they reached kids for eternity and made lifelong friends.
