QEGS highlighted in OFSTED Annual Report launch Lunchtime Club Knit for Australia Keen literary pupils at Mrs Dewhurst’s lunchtime ‘Bookmark Club’ have been busy learning a new craft since returning for the new term and in turn have shown immense kindness to The Australian Animal Rescue Project.

Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School is delighted to have been highlighted as part of the launch of the Ofsted Annual Report for 2018/19. Year 1 Use Trip to Z Arts to Inspire Creative Writing Pupils from Year 1 visited the popular Julia Donaldson exhibition at Z Arts and took inspiration from Donaldson’s ‘Zog’ to create their very own hybrid creature. Read more

75th Holocaust Memorial Day Marked at QEGS

As part of the 75th Holocaust Memorial Day, pupils from across Senior School came together to mark the day in 1945 when Soviet soldiers entered Auschwitz and liberated 7,560 survivors.

Skating Sydney Tips 22,000 Audience Total Year 8 pupil Sydney Chadderton has now skated to over 22,000 people, thanks to her involvement with BIDCA, a charity for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in Blackpool and the Fylde. Read more

Year 7 and 8 Pupils Impress With Their Basketball Skills

Year 12 History Students Go Beyond Be safe, Be seen! The Books Pupils in Primary Phase enjoyed a visit from a Co-op representative to support the Co-op’s ‘Be Safe Be Seen’ campaign. Belle visited QEGS in late January and started the presentation by explaining her job and how she supports the Co-op’s initiative that aims to teach children about road safety and keep them safe when travelling to and from school. Pupils’ Animations Bring Geography Topics to Life Year 9 pupils in Mrs Albiston’s Geography class used animation to bring physical geography topics to life, including land formations and geographical processes such as longshore drift. Read more

Psychology A level Students First-Hand Eggs-perience of Attachment Theory Students in Year 12 explored the Attachment Theory through the use of eggs, as part of their A level study. The ‘children’ spent the weekend at students’ homes, having spent Friday waiting for their Eggparents in the ‘Q-Eggs’ Nursery. Read more

QEGS Sixth Form Awarded Positive Category for Sixth Form Student Progress

The Department of Education has recently published updated data for 2018/19 and we are delighted to be able to announce that QEGS has been awarded an ‘above average’ progress score at A level. This means students in QEGS’ Sixth Form are making more progress, on average, than students across England who gained similar results at the end of Key Stage 4 study. Read more

Sixth Form Students Recognised by UK Chemistry Olympiad Five Year 12 and 13 students have been awarded bronze certificates by the UK Chemistry Olympiad.
