OVERDUE RECOGNITION ART GALLERY
CONTENTS OUR ARTISTS OUR NAME
ABOUT US Find out how Overdue Recognition Art Gallery got started, what type of art lives there, and what African American art means to us.
Learn why we thought long and hard about naming the art gallery. We had lots of ideas like Thompsons Art Gallery, we are proud of our name, but it really didnt need to be attached. Art Creation, overused with no meaning. The Art Shop, which sounds like we were working out of our garage. We wanted the galleries name to be the first name you think of for African American Art.
The gallery represents some of the most sought after African American Artists of this time. These artists have been evaluated on originality, formal training, technique, marketability and pricing.

Art chronicles our own lives and experiences over time. We need art to understand and to share our individual and shared history. We are thrilled to be apart of the movement, having united collectors with African American art.
ABOUT US
We were inspired to open Overdue Recognition Art Gallery in Bowie, Maryland after surveying the gallery scene for African American art, in the Washington Metropolitan area. We work together promoting those artists whose work we believe in and take very seriously the responsibility, of providing collectors, both private and corporate with art that is high in aesthetic quality and strong in investment potential. We have appeared on various panels about the importance of art collecting, We are committed to our motto "Our Gallery Is Your Gallery" by contributing to a growing cultural community. The Journey has been great!
