TowMate Spearheads Successful Renewal of 5-Year Wireless Tow Light Exemption for Tow Truck Operators

ROGERS, AR — TowMate, a leading US manufacturer of LED lighting and roadside safety systems for automotive applications for over 35 years, is proud to announce the successful renewal of a 5-year exemption for the use of their wireless tow lights on US roadways. This exemption, granted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), has a backdated effective date of February 9, 2023, ensuring that any citation issued during the lapse in coverage from the previous exemption can be nullified.

As the inventor of wireless tow lights, TowMate has been dedicated to providing professional tow truck operators and others with innovative, efficient, and safe tools to execute their tasks more effectively.

The exemption journey began with a 2-year exemption, followed by another 2-year exemption, and then a 5-year exemption. The recent lapse in coverage occurred before a new exemption could be published, but TowMate’s diligent work with the FMCSA has led to the approval of another 5-year exemption, published on April 19, 2023.

TowMate is also pleased to report that a permanent solution is in the works, which will ensure the lasting acceptance and use of wireless tow lights on US roadways.
