2024/25

The OnStage student field trip series is designed for students from public, private and home schools. The shows offer a diverse range of performing art forms, connect to content across the curriculum and present various cultural perspectives. To deepen the student experience, we provide Educator Resource Guides filled with curriculum-focused lesson ideas for each show.

• Tickets for OnStage performances go on sale May 8, 2024

• Seats are $9 each for school groups, $10.50 each for homeschool groups. One complimentary seat is given for every 15 seats reserved, and subsidies are available for qualified groups.

• All performances are 60 minutes; sometimes this includes a short talk back with the artists.

• Includes a standards-based resource guide stocked with lesson ideas and curricular connections; sent one month prior to each performance.

For centuries, magicians have used scientific principles to make people levitate in mid-air and vanish in the blink of an eye. Illusionist Bill Blagg’s one-of-a-kind educational experience takes students on a rare, neverbefore-seen journey behind the scenes of the magic world. The “Science of Magic” is designed to excite, educate, intrigue and promote students to think outside the box and spawn their curiosity about how science and the scientific method are used by magicians to create the impossible!

You are cordially invited to meet Peter Rabbit and friends! Four favorite Beatrix Potter stories, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit,” “The Tailor of Gloucestor,” “The Tale of Jeremy Fisher” and “The Tale of Tom Kitten,” come to life in this mesmerizing puppet show, complete with Potter’s original text and live, original music. One wild and windy night the Gruffalo’s Child ignores her father’s warnings about the Big Bad Mouse and tiptoes out into the deep dark wood. She follows snowy tracks and encounters mysterious creatures – but the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist...does he?

The Mayhem Poets combine hip hop, poetry and current issues in a show that is fast-paced, funny, creative and thought-provoking. Their poems comment on everything from literature and school to politics and fast food. They hope that you’ll leave the show with a new appreciation for the power of well-chosen and well-spoken words—and motivation to write your own spoken-word pieces.
