Donald Campbell’s Bluebird K7
Hand carved from sustainable mahogany this scale replica of Bluebird K7 - the boat in which Donald Campbell broke the world speed record on water at just over 328mph - should be the pride in any collection of fine craftsmanship. Caroll Shelby, a Texan pilot, was forced to stop his career in 1960 at the age of 37 due to health concerns. Thus began a dream of his to produce the ultimate American sports car, capable of competing with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche. The 427 was launched in 1965 with a redesigned chassis, widened tires, buffed up wings and a 7 litre 427 inch cube engine producing an amazing and sometimes barely manageable 410bhp.
