Supermarine Seafire

The Supermarine Seafire was a naval version of the Supermarine Spitfire adapted for operation from aircraft carriers. SLF III PP972 left the Westland Aircraft works during September 1944 and was transferred to 809 (Naval) Squadron in November of that year. This unique model has been superbly crafted and liveried down to the last detail by Bravo Delta, among the best exponents of accurate, fine-scale model reproductions. The exquisite collectable is hand painted with up to 35 coats of paint, comes with considerable detail and exact colouring to match the original version. Wingspan 19” (48.3cms).

2003 as the aviation icon and one of Britain’s most awe-inspiring aircraft. It had a maximum speed of over twice the speed of sound at mach 2.04, and was able to carry up to 128 passengers. This 1/100th-scale hand-carved model is painted in British Airways’ distinctive “Chatham dockyard” livery, designed for BA by the Admiral’s Original Flag Loft in Chatham. Kent. Introduced in June 1997 and based on the original flag used by Admiral Nelson in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, the livery scheme incorporates a stylish red, white and blue interpretation of the Union Flag on the fin. This facsimile measures 24” x 9.5” (62 x 24cms) and is specially signed by Captain Mike Bannister, Chief Concorde Pilot from 1995 until 2003. Ref. P176192 £365.00
