Sines - School on the street 2015/16 - Filipa Roseta, Universidade de Lisboa, PT

Sines, former small village, the birth place of Vasco da Gama. Now city with heavy industry program and big natural deepwater port south of Lisbon. This city is meant to grow extensively as the port and bussines is planned to grow. But this growth has to be carefully planned with emphasis on the city itself and its inhabitants. Even now it faces problems such as lack of young people, better living conditions, other jobs than in industry, lack of social engagement and connection to surrounding lands. In a group, we analized the city from many points of view and came up with more possibilities from which one emerged as our favourite. Drawing inspiration from bigger cities, which underwent this planned growth already, we try to prevent problems which they faced and solving iminent problems of Sines, by introducing new Naval Academy of Sines. An alternative to university, this school would attract many young people, which would live directly in the city, have praxis in the existing port with great opportunities from thriving bussineses. To influence as much of the city with new life as possible, we designed the school, to be multiple points spread through the city on a linear string, connecting, enhancing and using as much as possible from the present city. Last part of the project itself was the design of one segment of this school, which consist of classrooms, facilities, auditorium and a small study/library. My concept for the building itself was derived from iconic naval symbol - Lighthouse, for me also symbol of hope and safety, which I implemented in every segment through the city

The Power plant - Hotel Sines 2015/16 - Filipa Roseta, Universidade de Lisboa, PT

The task for next semester was in the same city, but in completely different setting. This power plant, completely separated on the outskirts of the city region, is to be shut down. Our goal was to transform it somehow into a hotel. The area of the power plant is immense and connection to the city is possible only by car or bycicle, but it is also close to the sea and beach, and it is surrounded by nice forests and planes. My idea was to make the hotel for sport and activities, which would be independet since it is so secluded. That means using all as much existing as possible, and making use of the vast area for sustainable energy and food production, water purification and sports. Main body of the plant is rebuild into rooms and facilities needed, top hall for huge coal engines is stripped of facade, just roof and huge concrete columns create extensive roof space almost referring to greek acropolis. Tall chimneys are left as a memory and symbol of the place, two silos are rebuild into sport facilities.

TU Dresden - new faculty od architecture 2016/17 - Novotný, Koňata, Zmek , FA- CTU

This project was made for the competition of TU Dresden. Given plot was in the university campus, thin stripe between huge auditorium building and old brick building of faculty of construction. Strictly given program enclosed 10000m2 with every room area given. How to design the faculty which wont block the frequented entrance to the campus, how to adress main street busy facade and inner calm park space. How to save some trees on the building area and how satisfy the program. My desing is to from the faculty as single unit, but opened to all of the surrounding activities and to connect instead of divide. The building has its inner courtyard with trees, which can be opened to the bigger park through café. Around the courtyard, most of the student- based activities are formed in horizontal fasion. Vertical element contains administrative and academical programs, with top reserved for all - library. Second semester was development of chosen inner spaces - café and model classroom.

Our own bed wooden multy-furniture for a student apartment room designed with M. Kรถrnigovรก


Architectural card game ARCHI In colaboration with Marketa Körnigová, we designed a card game with architectural topic. The game consists from 150 original cards, about 40 of them with handdrawn pictures of houses and architects, and over 100 playing cards with thematic topics. The rules are also original and the backside is small “poster” made from building cards drawings. The game has been tested with our friends architects but also non - architects and both groups had a lot of fun playing, which brought us also great joy. So far we produced 40 copies.
