We were the first company to offer a two-year breakage warranty on our twintips, we developed both the lightest and strongest surfboard on the market with our active construction, and we created the Dyneema Load Frame which has essentially doubled the lifespan on our kites. And our commitment to developing the most durable products on the market is ongoing... The desire for this comes from a few places. Primarily we want to build premium products to give you the best riding experience, and we understand that when you invest in something good, you want it to last. Secondly, we believe the path to reducing our environmental impact is making everything last twice as long.

SUSTAINABILITY As a group of avid wind, wave and outdoor enthusiasts it is obvious that we cannot take so much pleasure from nature without contributing towards its survival. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Our passion for riding, technology and innovation inspired by nature, along with our continued exploration of new and incredible kite and surf locations, inspires our participation in the fight to protect them and to help reverse the decline in the overall environmental health of our planet.â&#x20AC;?

Carbon offsetting is often viewed as a corporate shortcut to mitigating some of the harm created without making any changes or engaging in the community. We have a different view and are very fortunate to be part of a coalition of organizations involved in the development of the unique climate park named after the Norwegian explorer and early environmentalist Thor Heyerdahl. For every kite or board purchased from Airush Kiteboarding we will plant and nurture a mangrove tree to maturity within the Thor Heyederdahl Climate Park.

Each of these incredible mangroves can potentially absorb over one ton of CO2 over 20 years, whilst protecting the low lying coastlines from stormy weather and tsunamis, and increasing fish production. As an example, a traditional surfboard has a CO2 footprint of around 50kg (More on reducing this below). The overall net benefits of our scheme are significant from a CO2 perspective; well beyond the footprint of the product manufacture process.

Our ongoing quest is to develop the highest performing Directional Surf and Foil Kiteboards on the market, while reducing our environmental impact. As an industry first we have teamed up with Sustainable Surf to develop a full line of Directional Surf and Foil Kiteboards that comply and exceed the Ecoboard fundamentals of: A measurably reduced carbon footprint. Renewable, recycled and/or up-cycled material inputs. Optimizing materials and processes that reduce toxicity during manufacturing.

BIO RESIN

ALTERNATIVE SANDWICH MATERIALS

Bio Resin Systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 50% over conventional petroleum based epoxies. These resin systems replace petroleum-based raw materials with renewable plant-based materials.

Sandwich constructions create a stronger skin while requiring less cloth and resin. In addition we have explored ways to optimize the materials used on the sandwich construction. Featured in our Reflex Bamboo surf range, bamboo sandwich is a non-toxic, renewable material that displaces a substantial amount of the cloth and resin typically used to make a board.

Wherever possible the raw materials used in Bio Resins are co-products or waste products of industrial processes, which do not compete with food sources or displace food-based agriculture. Along with the environmental benefits, epoxy bio resin offers 3.5% to 4.5% tensile elongation at failure compared to 1% to 2% for typical polyester resins. Polyester resins are also more toxic during the lamination and are avoided wherever possible. EPS CORE MATERIALS As a base material for our surfboard cores, EPS can be easily recycled during manufacture and afterwards, whilst being less harmful to produce. At the same time the EPS core is typically lighter, allowing us to put a tougher outside skin onto the board to increase the lifespan. EPS requires an epoxy skin, and typically epoxy resin has five times the strength of polyester because of its molecular bonding.

Featured in our Reflex Carbon surf range, GuritÂŽ Corecellâ&#x201E;˘ is a structural foam core material using a SAN polymer base, featuring high toughness and impact resistant characteristics. It offers very reliable processing without outgassing and the base materials are PVC free, as opposed to traditional sandwich materials. ALTERNATIVE LAMINATES Alternatives to glass and carbon are still in their development stages with Flax emerging as a viable alternative to Glass fiber. Flax offers nearly 50% better performance in tensile elongation than regular glass and when exposed to pressure perpendicular to its length direction, a Flax yarn has the tendency to maintain its round cross-section. This is a great advantage over glass or carbon yarns that tend flatten out due to sliding of the fibers constituting the yarns. These mechanical properties are combined with significant environmentalbenefits such as one third of the carbon emissions.

WASTE 2 WEAR Around 36 billion plastic bottles are produced every year, and more than 30% of non-recycled plastics will end up in the rivers or oceans. Consider this, and remember that these waterways are our playground. We have teamed up with one of the leaders in recycled plastic, and now we produce many of our kitebags and key accessories in collaboration with Waste 2 Wear.

Waste 2 Wear recycle 100% post-consumer plastic bottles into eco-friendly fabrics. This unique process involves turning environmentally damaging waste into useable, sustainable yarns. The recycled yarns are then combined with natural fibers to be woven or knitted into eco-friendly fabrics, suitable for garments, home textiles and accessories.

ENERGY USE We understand that our incredible base in South Africa uses power created primarily from burning nonrenewable fossil fuels, resulting in polluted air, soil and water, and accelerating global warming. In order to reduce this environmental harm, we renovated a turn of the century building into the Airush headquarters in Cape

Town, incorporating progressive insulation to limit the heating and cooling requirements, and installing LED lighting. Through installation of solar panels and advanced battery systems, we have reduced our overall electricity demand from the power grid by over 70 percent and our carbon footprint by an estimated 7.5 tons per year.

RECYCLE | UPCYCLE Our goal is to keep as much waste from landfill as possible. As a start, we have teamed up with Mafia Bags who have focused on upcycling or repurposing old kites from our customers. These kites are transformed into some useful soft goods that would normally be made from brand new materials.

You can upcycle your kite by dropping it off at your local Upcycling Drop Off Center; and weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll send your old kite on a little Upcycling holiday. After a short trip, your old kite will be Upcycled into something cool like a tote bag and put to good use.

1. AIRUSH DYNEEMA LOAD FRAME III featuring WebTech

Looking deeper into the Gradient Sub Frame:

The all-new Airush Dyneema Load Frame featuring WebTech has been the key to setting the ultimate benchmark in durability, without compromising on weight.

By expanding our exclusive Dyneema Load Frame with Webtech throughout the areas normally occupied by Dacron, we are able to minimize or completely remove the heavier fabric and utilize the Dyneema web fibers instead - increasing strength and minimizing weight. 2. WEBTECH

6. FBI ONE PUMP VALVES

WebTech minimizes or replaces the traditional Dacron reinforcing by channeling the broader loads into the Load Frame through a web “sub frame” of Dyneema. This is featured in key areas such as the primary attachment points on the leading edge or the rear attachment points, while also being used to support structural components such as the center strut.

The oversized SPS valve (Single Point Inflation System) optimizes inflation and deflation. The Fast Bladder Inflation (FBI) features increased wall thickness and oversized diameter tubing, thus eliminating tube kink, reducing stress on your pump, and enabling quick and easy inflation. The SPS Cover supports the tubing, further limiting UV damage to the material and preventing over flexing when packing.

7. FOUR PIECE STRUT

Central to the concept of the Load Frame are the lightweight Dyneema yarns, of which each single yarn can carry 40kg. Think of them as a lightweight web with engineered energy absorption under load, similar to a spider web.

The 4-piece strut has an added double folded triple stitch seam aligned with a 20mm wide webbing strip to reduce point of wearing. This increases durability and rigidity of the struts.

These yarns are integrated into the canopy through reinforced taping that allows them to elongate when under extreme load, absorbing most of the shock that traditionally would have run through the canopy. At the same time they carry the primary load of the canopy, preventing stretch and increasing longterm performance.

4. TECHNOFORCE D2 This premium fabric is designed with a high-density structure using high tenacity polyester yarn, and a double Ripstop configuration. D2 also features a double coating. Prior to weaving, the individual yarns are coated. Once woven the fabric then undergoes a second coating, protecting the yarn as much as possible from UV and abrasion damage. This ensures that the canopy remains as crisp and responsive as possible for as long as possible. Used in conjunction with the Dyneema Load frame, this results in the ultimate combination of durability and performance. 5. GRADIENT SUB FRAME The Gradient Sub Frame creates a more progressive load throughout the kite, greatly reducing strain on key stress points. Working in conjunction with the WebTech we are able to optimize each model specifically for its use. For example the Wave kites feature a combination of the gradient wingtip and WebTech for maximum durability, whereas the Ultra reduces the amount of Dacron to reduce weight as much as possible.

With ongoing improvements to the canopy construction, the increased durability has increased the maximum possible loads on the leading edge. By using our Gradient Load Technology on the bridle insert points and leading edge closure (along with Double Stitching), as well as Dimension Polyant Dacron manufactured in Germany, we have created a heavy-duty leading edge that supports the increased performance demands. 9. UNITY STRUT CONNECTION The Unity Strut Connection provides a solid point from strut to leading edge to create a stiff structure that helps in performance and relaunching. The Unity Strut Connection works in conjunction with the 4-Piece Struts allow for a thinner and lighter strut. 10. V3.1 BRIDLE SYSTEM The key benefit of the V3 bridle is that the kite maintains steering even when completely de-powered, increasing the usable wind range and overall performance significantly. The V3.1 bridle system contributes significantly to the turning speed and performance of supported leading edge kites. In addition, the total depower adds immensely to the safety benefits. The positioning of the bridle attachment points on the LE of the kite, combined with the V pulleys, give a range of movement. The result is that steering is light, but direct enough to feel where your kite is while riding. Further refinements have allowed us to reduce the length of the bridles, while maintaining the performance characteristics.

LITHIUM Progression

The Lithium Progression construction features an amazing number of features while still living up to its name of simplicity, durability, and performance. The Lithium Progression kite features the industry standard, Teijin T9600 Single Rip Stop Canopy, which is extremely resistant to UV, stretching and the abuse that kiters deliver on a daily basis.

Unique to the Lithium Progression is the multi-strut inflation system with 9mm Inflate Valves. Although simple, this inflation system has proved reliable over years of use throughout the industry. This multi-strut inflation system allows for easy maintenance and repairs, especially in scenarios where the kites are used extensively.

The V2.1 Bridle System on the Progression offers a functional and stable setup when working together with the Delta Hybrid Design. This combination gives the most amount of wind range while riding and makes relaunching extremely fast.

Reduced diameter bar. Shorter bar throw and smaller depower loop ideal for shorter arms. Developed to work in conjunction with the diamond kite. We looked closely at the specific needs of female kiters which led to the development of the Diamond Bar. Focusing on a more compact control setup with a smaller chicken loop and shorter trim line we were able to keep the depower strap easily within reach, which is absolutely critical for riding comfortably and safely.

Although the Diamond bar is smaller (42-48cm), this bar is designed around the Diamond Kite which responds perfectly to this size. A reduction in grip diameter that mimics the AP Bars grip size is extremely beneficial for those with smaller hands and ensures a more comfortable feeling while riding.

AP BAR Control Bar

Minimalist Bar Focusing On Pure Function And Durability. Can Be Size Customized To Specific Rider Demands. Heavy Duty Flying Lines. The key philosophy of the AP BAR was to create the most minimal design possible that focuses purely on function and bomb-proof durability. As freestyle and wakestyle riders, these philosophies are crucial for equipment that is constantly being used and abused while riding hooked or unhooked. The AP Bar features a 19mm reduced diameter bar that enables the rider to maintain a solid grip through the most power moves and landings. As this diameter bar is fully customizable, the bar can be cut and adjusted to meet a smaller width if needed. Although the bar comes stock with a medium sized chickenloop for everyday riding, the AP Bar included an easy to install XL chickenloop strictly for unhooking. A shorter bar throw with a clean freestyle trim strap system gives the AP bar enough range while still

remaining function. While doing big kiteloops or pop and slack tricks, it is essential for lines to be as strong as possible. With the AP Bar, a 400kg tested line with extensions has been installed to make this bar extremely durable and versatile. A new freestyle leash designed with our team addresses and fixes some of the major problems that unhooked riders experience during their sessions. An overall longer length leash makes multiple passes and throwing the leash over-head even easier. The use of a larkshead attachment onto the chickenloop or 5th line replace the usual metal hook which prevents unwanted openings or breakage that can occur during missed tricks. It also is a lot easier on the ridersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; hands when grabbing. Lastly, the end of the leash features a swivel to easily unwind the leash, which prevents coiling, and breakage.

Shape & Outlines Through years of development Airush have resolved the rocker lineup with a full range of continuous rockers specifically designed in combination with a board’s shape and flex pattern. These rockers enhance a range of boards that excel in every discipline and maximize the range’s performance. We are firm believers in continuous rocker lines as this allows for an incredibly smooth transition between the boards surface and the surface of the water, thereby reducing drag. 1. Low Lightwind Rocker Line: TThis rocker is our flattest rocker specifically designed for lightwind riding. This rocker makes sure the board starts planing in incredibly light wind and results in reduced drag between the board’s base and the water surface. Flex Rating

Every board’s flex is measured to create the ultimate progression through the range to make sure each board is an outstanding performer in its respective discipline. For testing, each board is supported 5cm from the tip, ensuring a realistic recording through the sizes and avoiding the often-made mistake of supporting between the fin holes. We then exert 30 kilograms of force through the center of the board forcing the board to deform. We then measure this deformation, to facilitate the fine-tuning of the board’s lay-up to optimize performance.

Airush introduced FMS rating 7 years ago as the first brand to quantify how much a twintip flexes, instead of the good old “feel” test, which can be very deceptive due to the impact of the length on the overall stiffness. FMS takes into account the boards length and deflection. Lower ratings indicate a softer board, more suited to freeride. A higher rating indicates a stiffer board more suited to more aggressive freeride style of riding.

As the most popular board model in the Airush range, the primary goal of offering three constructions was to meet the demand of various freeride disciplines. The Progression Construction offers an extremely reliable and durable construction ideal for entry-level riders. The layup is softer in flex making it extremely comfortable in small to moderate chop. Our Core Construction has been our classic layup with a moderate flex characteristic for increased pop and response.

Utilizing a stronger top sheet from the Progression and contour 3D deck, the Switch Core gives a direct input from rider to board with consistent flex. The Switch Team Construction is the premium offering in the range. The full carbon construction has the best pop and response out of the three layups. This full carbon construction is preferred by serious freeriders who demand the best performance during their kite sessions.

Construction

The all-new Element strap sets a new standard in comfort, durability and ergonomic support. Through extensive research into alignment and the natural movement of the riderâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s ankles, knees and upper body during riding and impact landings, the Dual Molded Direct Impact foot bed was developed.

This unique design increases the ergonomic support to the medial (inner) side of your foot, which in turn guides your knees outwards during high impact landings. This technology, common in running and athletic shoes, offers the best support and stability while minimizing the chances of fatigue and injury.

The two part dual density molded design features an ultracomfortable lower density upper layer with extra cushioning on your lateral (outer) side of your foot, with a denser more supportive impact resistant layer on the medial (inner) side of the foot. Ergonomically designed to support, stabilize and cushion the feet during high impact landings.

The variable angle adjustment strap works in conjunction with the directional grooving to keep your foot firmly in place. This combined with the adjustable rubber molded tongue enables the rider to fine-tune the Element to fit their specific foot shape and create the ultimate connection to the board. Put simply: the Element makes your board feel better than ever before.

DIRECTIONAL GROOVING Directional grooving guides your heel towards the center of the pad, helps your toes to grip more effectively, and stops your feet from slipping out of position when jumping or in heavy chop.

DUAL MOLDED DIRECT IMPACT FOOTBED The two part dual density molding design creates an ultra-comfortable upper layer which is active during regular riding, with a denser more supportive impact resistant layer specifically designed to support and cushion your feet during high impact landings. CUSTOM EPOXY The Custom EPS construction blends a classic surf style, with the premium Ecoboard construction and our advanced core technology. We start with a medium-density EPS core (35 Kg/per m3 , for the tech heads) developed from our premium fused EPS technology. When using a single skin construction a denser core is ideal, specifically in the thinner lower volume boards, such as the Converse. Covering the core, the laminate has been extensively reinforced to deal with the demands of kiting with up to five layers in

the standing area, and a final layer of Innegra under the heels. Innegra is the lightest fiber commercially available (lighter than water) and can dissipate tremendous amounts of energy, making it ideal for high impact areas. Custom EPS offers the flex and feel characteristics of a classic surfboard, with the increased durability of the kite specific construction. All custom epoxy surfboards include footstrap inserts.

REFLEX BAMBOO The Reflex Bamboo takes the same medium density core as our Custom Construction, but we remove the traditional wood stringer and add a full deck progressive flex bamboo sandwich with a longitudinally oriented bamboo center panel on the bottom deck. The unique bamboo top deck progressive flex is achieved through a variable orientation, where the nose area features a longitudinal oriented bamboo section, the center section a 45 degree bias, and the tail section a horizontal orientation.

To top this off we include a UD Flax rail, which strengthens the rail section while improving impact resistance. Flax offers nearly 50% better performance in tensile elongation than regular glass, with significantly improved environmental credentials. Reflex Bamboo combines incredible flex with a durable sandwich outer layer, making it ideal for the rider looking for a bombproof and reliable performance construction. REFLEX CARBON INNEGRA In our quest to develop the lightest performance surfboard on the market with increased flex and response, Airush introduces the Reflex Carbon Innegra construction. The first key ingredient is our flyweight core where the unique molding process creates an extremely light core, less than half the weight of a traditional surf core, but with a dense outer skin created through a specific molded core for each board size. The second key ingredient is our tough Corecell sandwich layer on the top and bottom skin. This unique material keeps the top and bottom deck from buckling while preserving the flex characteristics. We also donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t sandwich the rail, which enhances the flex further.

The final outer skin comprises of a Biaxial Carbon fiber bottom deck and a unique Biaxial Carbon Innegra top deck. COMP Competition and all round performance. Intermediate fast rocker for speed. New generation fin positioning and tail shape for snap. The Comp earns its name by its focus as our performance competition shape, blending speed with agility. Starting with the bottom curve, the Comp features a relatively flat tail rocker for speed and acceleration with a medium/high nose rocker for larger surf and more top to bottom riding.

We moved the thruster set back to compensate for the fast rocker, keeping all the snap of a high tail rocker board without sacrificing speed. If you need one wave board to perform in any conditions you throw at it, the Comp is your board of choice.

The outline is comprised of a moderate width center, for early planing and drive, with a relatively narrow tail for edging and snap and a narrow nose to drive through powered top turns.

AMP II Incredible new shape combining performance and early planing. High speed rocker for maximum speed. High curve outline for maneuverability. The AMP II was developed directly from our favorite dedicated all-round surf shape, combining a flat rocker for high speed and control, with a higher curve outline to optimize the maneuverability. The narrower tail is ideal for kiting, as it maintains control at high speed while the wider center and fuller nose work with the flat rocker to optimize the low wind performance. The bottom shape features a double concave bottom center section to absorb chop and offer a smooth ride. The winger

channels introduce more rocker into the tail section for snap off the top, while keeping a fast rail rocker for drive through the bottom turn. The AMP II is the ultimate blend of drive and maneuverability, ideal for less powerful surf and onshore days. MINI MONSTER Unique freeride design for flat water and small surf. Intermediate fast rocker for speed. Convertible Option with low drag foil insert. The Mini Monster redefines the freeride space by offering a single board that can take you from light wind flat-water freeride into strapless riding, while still being playful enough for onshore surf. This unique blend takes the outline from our bestselling Cypher Surf shape and combines that with rocker elements from the Original Airush Sector Freeride shapes. The name is derived by combining high volume (for lightwind and early planing) and a refined surf rail and relatively narrow outline for performance riding. This is most apparent in the 4â&#x20AC;&#x2122;10

Mini Monster which still has over 20 Liters of volume but fits easily into a golf bag or compact airline friendly setup. Beyond the shape, the reinforced Future Fin boxes can be setup with a standard Future surf fin for wave or strapless freeride or the Twisted freeride fins. The Twisted Freeride fins have a unique geometry that rotates the fin angle at the base, optimizing these freeride fins to fit into a traditional surf fin box configuration. The Mini Monster is offered in 3 configurations to appeal to specific customer demands and local conditions.

These unique insert sets feature an ultra-thin stainless steel threaded insert, within a flexible nylon contact pad, that conforms to the shape of the top deck. This pad is connected using 3M VHB (Very High Bond) space age adhesive tape to create a unique bond to your board.

REFLEX BAMBOO - FOUND IN THE MINI MONSTER The Reflex Bamboo takes the same medium density core as our Custom Construction, but we remove the traditional wood stringer and add a full deck progressive flex bamboo sandwich with a longitudinally oriented bamboo center panel on the bottom deck. The unique bamboo top deck progressive flex is achieved through a variable orientation, where the nose area features a longitudinal oriented bamboo section, the center section a 45 degree bias, and the tail section a horizontal orientation.

The Airush Foil range has been redesigned from the ground up with focus on performance and reliability. New features such as reinforced wing inserts, one-piece fuselage, and triple bolt connections to the mast from both plate and fuselage, have been used and tested to further increase the longevity and quality of the foil under high loads and stress that are caused during riding.

This focus on quality is matched with performance that meets the requirements of entry to advanced riders with multiple choices of mast lengths and wing options. The various options and compatibility allow each rider to customize their ride from the very first ride with slow and low performance to the most technical riding abilities with longer masts and higher aspect wing settings.

STREAMLINED CONNECTION PLATE

MICRO TRIM ADJUSTMENT WITH OPEN ENDS

The streamlined connection plate absolutely minimizes any drag when you get going or touch down, while creating a solid connection to the mast.

The 12mm slots enable micro trim adjustment not being used in a track system, while the open ends make the plate much quicker and easier to fit, when being used in a track system.

The Anhedral front wing with horizontal tips, creates stability, specifically when carving, by preventing side slipping and improved ventilation correction.

The unique ultra streamlined fuselage absolutely minimized drag while maximizing stiffness, while the flow dynamics minimizing any oscillation you would find in a round fuselage resulting in increased stability.

The updated trimable rear wing connection allows the trim angle to be quickly adjusted to compensate for the lift requirements for different rider levels, personal preference and when using different wing configurations.

TRIPLE BOLT CONNECTION TOP AND BOTTOM

The Triple Bolt connection top and bottom work in conjunction with the chamfered slot connection for a bombproof connection while enabling a quick switch out between mast options.
