4 Job Summary The position is assigned in the Infrastructure and Technology Operations Division (ITID) within the Information Technology Department (ITD). ITD enables ADB’s digital agenda and supports the Bank’s global operations. The department delivers digital innovation, IT infrastructure, services, and solutions, and provides tools and knowledge platforms. ITID is responsible for the design, governance, implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of ADB’s technology infrastructure, platforms, security and associated systems. This division works to ensure that the bank’s production technology systems are operational and available to the people of ADB and continually monitors the bank’s infrastructure and applications for potential security threats and breaches. This division also stays abreast of the latest developments in end-user devices, mobility, and technology architecture to ensure ADB is taking advantage of the latest technologies when it makes business sense.

To view the ADB Organizational Chart, please click here. The IT Specialist (Enterprise Integration) is accountable for designing and operating ADB’s hybrid integration platforms (HIP). The incumbent is responsible in: •

providing design and deep Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in all areas of enterprise integration working with the Enterprise Architecture team to design and enforce application programming interface (API) standards managing HIP’s day to day operations establishing, enforcing, and governing ADB’s “Integration’s License to Operate”.

S/he will assist in developing a secure, scalable, and resilient governance and operating model. The incumbent will report to Director, ITID and will supervise National staff and Administrative staff


5 Responsibilities •

Oversees the operations, maintenance and performance of the enterprise integration platform including testing, upgrading, and development of new integration connectors/services. Analyzes integration requirements, proposes design, and implements recommendations to improve integration services (e.g., standards for message signing, adoption of industry acknowledged API framework, etc.). Works with the Enterprise Architecture team to set the overall direction and strategic initiatives within the integration space. Ensures that integration artifacts are delivered, deployed, and operated in a highly repeatable and consistent manner through Containerization, DevOps, and Automation. Manages and provides mentoring to other members of the integration team to produce high-quality implementations and solutions for integration. Communicates with appropriate vendors to identify solutions to problems, explore capabilities, and understand requirements of applications under development. Keep abreast with changes and advancements within the integration landscape (e.g., ESB, API, BPM, Messaging, Event Driven, Microservices etc.). Act as an integration advocate across different divisions within the Information Technology Department. Supervises staff, agency personnel, and managed service personnel for enterprise integration.

Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant fields. Alternatively, university degree in related fields combined with additional relevant professional experience can be considered Minimum of 8 years of information technology experience including experience relevant to this position with large enterprise deployments Experience with SoftwareAG’s webMethods suite of products (e.g., IS, BPM, UM, etc.) Experience of analyzing a wide range of integration requirements, and implementation of patterns including Middleware, Bulk Data, Real-Time, Event Driven integrations Experience in linking of crossfunctional applications between disparate business units and systems Experience with application profiling to debug application performance issues (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, etc.) Knowledge of Industry recognized API frameworks (e.g., HATEOS, JSONAPI, GraphQL, etc.) Knowledge of ESB, API Management and API Gateway Technologies Knowledge of Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS)

Knowledge of Business Process Management and Business Rules engine Knowledge of Messaging Technologies (e.g., MQ, MQTT, WebSockets, etc.) and its patterns (e.g., Asynchronous, Choreography, Pub/Sub, etc. Knowledge on modern software development practices such as Containerization and DevOps (e.g., CI/ CD, TDD, etc.) Working knowledge with Cloud Native Infrastructure and public cloud offerings such as Azure, AWS, GCP Knowledge of event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, etc.) is desired Knowledge of configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is ideal Knowledge of service orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Mesos, Nomad, Swarm, etc.) is ideal Knowledge on reliable design patterns (e.g., graceful degradation) is ideal International experience working in several countries Attention to detail and organization in all aspects of work Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required


7 General Considerations The selected candidate, if new to ADB, is appointed for an initial term of 3 years. ADB offers competitive remuneration and a comprehensive benefits package. The actual appointment salary will be based on ADB’s standards and computation, taking into account the selected individual’s qualifications and experience.
