Together with its partners, the foundation nurtures their life and professional skills to pave their way to economic and social independence. The Foundation is currently active in Switzerland, Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. DROSOS FOUNDATION is seeking its new Country Director for Egypt, to be based in Cairo.
DROSOS FOUNDATION has been active in Egypt since 2005 providing support for projects to help vulnerable groups in the areas of protection and social reintegration, vocational training and integration into the labour market, self-employment and social entrepreneurship
support, and promoting creativity. At first, it mainly provided support on Greater Cairo and in the governorates of Fayoum and Minya. The Foundation has in the meantime expanded its area of activity to the governorate of Aswan with the aim of extending support to other underserved governorates. The Foundation will be increasing its involvement in projects aimed at helping young people in the region, focusing on the areas of economic and social empowerment and promoting creative activities for young people. The Foundation is an ally in supporting and empowering young changemakers who are passionate about creating positive social change in their communities and beyond. The Role Job Summary
Reporting to the CEO, and leading a team of expert colleagues, the Country Director Egypt will be based at the Foundation’s country office in Cairo and oversee the programme work in the country in close collaboration with the Foundation’s Leadership Team (CEO, COO and CPO) in Zurich. This is a strategic leadership role for an inspired professional who will optimally represent the interests of DROSOS FOUNDATION, grow the local and international networks and nurture the team of committed experts.

Main Responsibilities
Enhancing our presence, the successful candidate
• Represents the Foundation locally and advocates for topics related to the Foundation’s vision.
• Builds collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including funding partners, government officials and local communities.
• Contributes to fostering new partnerships and developing the project portfolio in line with the Foundation’s strategic directions and programmatic approach.
• Supports project partners to advance their organisational capacities and impact planning.
• Contributes to DROSOS’ global knowledge exchange and strategy development in coordination with the Leadership Team and other Senior Management roles.
Providing strategic leadership, the successful candidate
• Is an effective and inspiring manager and role model in the organisation together with the Foundation’s Leadership Team (CEO, COO, and CPO) and other Senior Management colleagues.
• Creates cohesion and alignment of DROSOS’ new strategic direction, programmes and approaches in Egypt.
• Oversees, monitors, and evaluates the implementation of projects and programmes, including tracking progress through reports, partner meetings, and field visits.
• Guides and coaches team members to ensure all programmes and projects are delivered effectively in Egypt in adherence to the Foundation’s global programme quality management standard.
• Nourishes Team members’ individual growth and well-being.
• Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the respective country.
• Manages project budgets and ensures proper and sound financial controlling of grants.
• Supports the tendering process of consultants, e.g. for project evaluations or organisational development support, drafting terms of reference, steering the selection process and contract negotiations, and monitoring the assignments.
Candidate Profile
Role requirements
• Higher education in the field of social sciences, humanities, or economics (international relations, international development cooperation, business administration, or related areas) with a strong business acumen.
• More than 8 years of working experience in international development cooperation, the philanthropic sector, community development, including experience in collaborating with civil society organisations.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams.
• A track record of project management, monitoring, and evaluation in Egypt.
• Very good communication and writing skills in English; advanced knowledge of Arabic (communication and writing skills).
• Flexibility to travel as required.

• Business planning skills and the ability to manage complex financial budgets and legal contractual relationships.
• Ability to simplify complex information into clear presentations to various key audiences.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with partners while maintaining independence and securing compliance with Foundation’s internal and external regulations.
