We currently work together face to face once a week in London, with some of our more remote workers joining less regularly.

In particular, your methodological expertise and experience in international development is going to be essential to us in the coming months, as these are the areas of our greatest growth.

Eido is in a period of growth and requires a new experienced Head of Evaluation and Learning, the role involves designing and implementing research and MEAL solutions to help Christian organisations become more evidence focused. With clients ranging in size from local churches to Christian NGOs, the role delivers a wide range of services from reviewing and designing of individual methodologies to the implementation of full IT-based monitoring and evaluation systems.

The Head of Evaluation and Learning is also responsible for the ongoing development and innovation of Eido’s impact evidence services. We are looking to grow our capacity to serve the international development sector and, as Eido continues to be a thought leader in spiritual impact evidence, there is a need to develop new approaches and tools to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding market.

Reporting to CEO Salary £45-£55k depending on experience and growth of the company

The Role Head of Evaluation and Learning

Location

• Design and deliver social and economic impact evaluations

• Support the Head of Sales with the identification of potential clients, specifically in the international development sector

• Lead the development of Eido products and services, and project proposals from initial client meetings to completion of the sale

Project Delivery

Responsibilities

• Represent Eido and our services with potential clients

• Manage and deliver a portfolio of 4-5 impact evidence projects with external clients

• Keep Eido up to date with trends in the impact management sector to ensure our products and services are best-practice and meet market needs

Project delivery

• Design and deliver Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning systems for Christian organisations both locally and internationally

• Support the Head of Delivery with the organisational processes that encourage the delivery of all projects to time, budget, quality, and staff well-being

• Design and deliver the full life-cycle of impact evidence projects from planning to delivery

Sales and business development

• Together with the Head of Delivery, build a growing team of 8-9 staff, capable of delivering 150 chargeable days per month

• Design and deliver bespoke commissioned research projects

• Experience of communicating with senior leaders and CEOs of other organisations

• Confidence to represent Eido and our services with potential clients

• A high value of empathy, collaboration, and grace in the workplace

• Strong understanding of the norms, culture and language within the Christian non-profit sector

• Experience of applied social research or evaluation within real-life settings

MotivationResearch

• Willingness to work longer hours when needed to meet deadlines in exchange for a flexible working pattern

• MSc or equivalent in a social research-based subject

• Experience of creating MEAL systems within charities

• Desire to use their experience to develop a small company with a growing reputation

Project management skills and experience

• Ability to work to multiple deadlines

• Professional experience managing or delivering qualitative and/or quantitative analysis, either in Excel or more technical software (e.g. NVivo, SPSS)

• Experience of project management, leading multiple projects simultaneously

Technical knowledge, skills and experience

• Experience of delivering projects managing the tensions

• Ideally, experience of working in a consultancy or other ‘commissioned’ role in project delivery

• Strong motivation to improve the social and spiritual impact of Christian organisations
