The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people. Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climateresilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 192 projects in 123 countries and has committed USD 10.1 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts. The GCF’s diverse workforce is advancing its mission from its headquarters in South Korea. Position: Chief Administrative Officer
The Role
Job Summary
Location of Position: Songdo, Incheon, South Korea
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for the management of the ICT, Procurement, Events and Travel, Security and General Services departments of the Secretariat. S/he will be directly responsible for managing, planning and implementing all administrative-related activities of the Fund and play a critical role in the Fund’s ability to scale.
Salary: USD 175,600 net (plus attractive benefits, that include the following allowances (as appliable): Relocation, dependency, education assistance and home country travel)
• Develop, implement and monitor budget and work plans taking into account appropriate resource requirements and transparency of expenditure;
Duties and Responsibilities
DELIVERY
• Drive digital and data strategies as part of an increasingly complex programming portfolio and institutional demand and vision of the Fund;
• Lead effective administrative strategies and institutional initiatives to ensure consistent, agile, and efficient operating platform and policies and in support of the speed of growth and demand of the Fund;
• Lead a team of approximately 33 staff and provide oversight in the efficient and timely delivery of services around information and communication technology, procurement and supply chain, corporate security, general services, events management and travel;
• Establish and maintain relationships with senior members of host country agencies for all administrative matters.

• Build alliances across and maintain strong relationships with senior staff to identify institutional needs, improvements and development of business solutions;
ENGAGEMENT
• Contribute to capacity building of stakeholders through lessons learned and knowledge building;
• Advise the CFO/Director DSS on all matters pertaining to the delivery of administrative support services to all divisions of the Secretariat;
• Manage key external relationships and networks to ensure continual improvements and best in class processes and policies.
• Oversee technology roadmap to develop scalable, flexible, and sustainable infrastructure for the growth of the Fund.
PURPOSE
• Liaise with divisions on challenges that pose interruption to administrative services management;
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to exercise a high degree of prudence and diplomacy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this position; knowledge of another UN language would be an advantage.
• Management – engages and motivates his/her team towards continual improvement.
• Influencing skills—persuades, convinces, and creates buy-in for ideas and initiatives in order to advance goals and strategies.
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Management, International Relations, or related fields, or a relevant Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Possessing excellent and highly effective communication skills.
• A strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Able to work comfortably in a fast paced environment and drive change.
Candidate Profile
• Is innovative in finding effective and efficient solutions; proven track record of process optimization, technology transformation and driving scalable processes.
• Enhances the relevance and image of the organization in the areas managed by DSS.

• Experience in leading and managing large and diverse teams.
• Leadership—develops the vision and implements the strategy for the business area.
• Strong problem solving, change management, organizational/project management, and creative skills as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on timely and accurate analyses.
• At least fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible work experience in administrative services, supply chain, general services, ICT and management in similar organizations, in an international setting.
