ABOUT INTERNATIONAL SOS International SOS is a medically-led company with over 36 years’ operating experience and 10,000 employees supporting clients worldwide. Clients include corporate, governmental and intergovernmental organisations, NGOs and the education sector. We work alongside our clients, complimenting and supporting existing health systems providing health and risk information services. We provide medical equipment and supplies, vaccines/vaccination services, health care support, medical assistance and evacuation, telemedicine and field medical services. As well as supporting over 12,000 corporate clients - including 82% of the Fortune Global 100 - we work routinely with governmental and inter-governmental organisations providing medical assistance and medical services and utilising our team of 5,200 medical professionals. We have an on the ground presence in 90 countries and at over 900 remote site medical facilities and our employees speak over 99 languages and dialects. Our professional staff include highly-trained doctors, medics, nurses, pharmacists, radiographers and laboratory technologists as well as operations, logistics and security specialists. As innovators of global telehealth services, we use teleconsultation and remote telemedicine in diverse operating environments and are comfortable working in high risk areas. Our medical consulting expertise includes, emergency medicine, family medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology/obstetrics, infectious disease and tropical medicine, public health, nutrition, dentistry and epidemiology and our experience includes pandemic preparedness and management. We have 27 Assistance Centres located globally and staffed by medical professionals together with 65 clinics. Our services are supported by our MedSupply business which enables us to provide expertly and globally sourced medical supplies ranging from medical equipment and pharmaceuticals through to vaccines and medical consumables for our clients whenever and wherever they need it with the ability to ship supplies anywhere in the world including the most remote areas.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Director of Global Health will work within the successful Government Services division of International SOS. The Government Services division focuses on government and inter-governmental organisation clients and has staff located around the globe including in the US, Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, Middle East and UK. Government Services is one of the fastest growing divisions within International SOS. International SOS has, for a number of years, been working with clients such as UNOPS, UNDP, Frontex (EU), the World Bank, WFP, and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in supporting global health systems through the provision of medical expertise, medical supplies (equipment, pharmaceuticals, vaccines etc) and medical services, and International SOS is now looking to increase their business in the global health systems area. The Director of Global Health that we are seeking to recruit will be based in UK (London) and will be part of a global team with counterparts in Northern Europe, South Africa, US, and Australia. Key for the role will be understanding public funding flows from multilateral organisations, multilateral development banks and International Financial Institutions and their international cooperation departments as well as NGOs, and the opportunities these present for International SOS. The position requires a good understanding of funding opportunities being made available in UK, and particularly by HMG via FCDO and other relevant departments for priority recipient countries, and the eligibility criteria in order to best leverage these opportunities. It also requires a mapping of these opportunities against International SOS’ own geographic footprint and delivery capabilities. Knowledge of funding streams as they relate specifically to the development of global health systems and of country Ministries of Health in their ultimate recipient position would be a bonus but is not essential. This includes building strong partnerships with those elements of the International SOS company that delivers specialised resources. International exposure and mindset combined with cultural sensitivity and effectiveness in a multicultural and fast-paced environment. Excellent communication (including internally vertically and laterally) and presentation skills (including to large audience e.g. conferences). High standards of honesty and integrity, self-discipline and self-motivation. Accomplished ability to understand, interpret and execute given guidance with minimal supervision. Customer centric. Leadership and people skills. Ability to motivate internal and external stakeholders to participate in solutiondriven, forward leaning business development initiatives. Operations skills. REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE •

Strong sales background, with proven attributes towards acquisition of new business, and exemplary levels of client care. Direct B2B solution/consultative selling experience in complex/service industry and with direct selling experience. Able to demonstrate a proven track record of successful leverage of business opportunities associated with Public Funding. Exposure to, and preferably operating experience in, relevant government agencies, such as FCDO or Department for International Trade

(or relevant Ministries) at a senior managerial level, ideally in field of Global Health Development. Proven success leading and contributing as a technical project/ program manager in diverse projects ranging in scale from local to global impact. Experience and demonstrated success in working in a cross-border, international, matrix structure organisation (desirable). Experience of living/working in an emerging market would be an advantage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS •

Tertiary qualifications (Degree) preferred. Required Languages.

Excellent written and oral English as a first language required.
