Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Business Development professional with a strong sales orientation for our International Development Line of Business. The Business Development lead is a quota carrying role that actively engages in positioning RIWI effectively, building partnerships with a broad range of International Development and Humanitarian organizations including INGOs, multilaterals, UN Organizations, foundations and more. Specifically, the role will engage with organizations working on Governance and Democracy, Environment, Public Health, Human Rights, Economic Development, Peace and Conflict.

International experience, ideally in international development, and an established track record of consistently achieving or overachieving business goals is critical. This person will have a passion for growing RIWI’s business across the globe including the sales of data solutions of sentiment and preference data, message testing and ongoing monitoring and evaluation data.
The successful candidate will have a solid track record and a strong network in the International Development community. They will be comfortable leading the entire sales process from prospecting and initiating relationships with new clients to executing contracts
The successful candidate will work closely with all areas of the business including the Senior Management team on sales strategy, product strategy and key account management. This position reports to the VP & General Manager of International Development.

Responsibilities
Qualifications and Required Skills
• Source new opportunities, build partnerships and drive deals to closure. • Negotiate partnerships and contracts with customers that are win-win in nature. • Develop go-to-market strategies to attain new logos that enable RIWI to grow with our target customers. • Leverage existing tools such as Zoom Info and others to identify target prospect lists. • Manage opportunities in the RIWI CRM system. • Build strategic relationships with key prospects in order to build and effectively position the the RIWI brand, grow sales and ultimately improve the international development sector’s efforts to achieve sustained results
• University degree, and a minimum of 5 years of business development and partnership building experience in International Development. • Well networked in the International Development community with connections in various government agencies, INGOs, foundations, implementation partner organizations, multilateral organizations, academic and research institutions among others. • Must be conversant in global geopolitical issues and trends, including aid architecture. • Experience using other data and capabilities for improved decisionmaking including data collection and analysis, message testing, and citizen-enabled behavioural insights. • Experience building partnerships and business opportunities in diverse settings and geographies. Strong cross-cultural skills are a must. • Strong track record of selling to international clients with a relentless focus on generating leads and building long-term business relationships. • Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communications.
• Excellent interpersonal, client management skills, organization skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced work environment. • English language required. Additional languages are not mandatory but definitely favoured. • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities - must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver in both short- and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment. • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and collaborative company culture. • Results-oriented mindset and a willingness to be hands-on with a high attention to detail. • RIWI is constantly evolving.
