The Role WeForest is looking for an experienced Finance and Administration Manager, who will be responsible for all financial and administrative matters of WeForest Ethiopia.
offices of WeForest, Ethiopia. The role also has a dotted line reporting to WeForest’s Finance & Administration Director and HR Director at WeForest’s headquarter in Brussels, to ensure alignment with the global finance strategy and policies.
The Finance and Administration Manager will report to, and work closely with, the Country Director and will manage directly the Finance and Administration Officer/s at the branch

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with frequent travel to project sites
Working hours:
Full-time, working Monday through Saturday morning, up to a maximum of 44 hours per week.

Responsibilities Accounting • Check and sign cash and bank, payroll and other reconciliations on monthly basis. • Examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards; • Ensure accounting records are accurate, and with all relevant information (donor and activity information) • Ensure Ethiopian Government tax requirements are met.
Human Resources • In coherence with WeForest’s global frameworks, develop and monitor the relevant HR policies and procedures within WeForest Ethiopia • Manage the selection and recruitment process in collaboration with the Country Director (from drafting the job descriptions to the closing of the recruitments) • Maintain pay plan and benefits program • File all required documents for WeForest Ethiopia’s staff • Facilitate staff performance evaluation process and documentation
Auditing and Controlling • Manage financial controls and ensure their implementation. • Identify potential gaps and develop new controls • Facilitate internal and external audits.
Compliance • Assess whether the insurance policies, contracting and administrative services are in accordance with the institution’s standards and policies. • Responsible for WeForest Ethiopia’s ethical, legal and statutory compliance.
Budgeting, Financial Monitoring and Evaluation and Financial Reporting • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statements) for WeForest Ethiopia Charity office, and WeForest headquarters • In collaboration with the teams, develop multi annual budgets, and analyse quarterly budget follow up • Prepare grant & donor financial reporting • Prepare cost analyses for efficiency & pricing reviews • Contribute in Project planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation process of the projects
Procurement • Supervise the procurement of goods and services for the projects in agreement with the team and with the Country Director’s approval. • Ensure the procurement policies (e.g. approval matrix) are being followed.

Leadership and training • Supervise all financial flows in all WeForest project areas • Work closely with WeForest sub granted partner institutions and monitor their financial flow • Provide IFRS and up to date accounting software trainings to WeForest finance team and partners

Qualification, skills and experience Essential: Overall • Degree in finance, accounting, or related and CPA or equivalent professional qualification • At least ten years relevant work experience in finance or business administration, preferably in the international development sector, with at least half of that at the senior management level. • Proven leadership skills and the ability to support organisational change. Technical • Proven ability in budgeting, planning and control of medium size organisation • Ability to forecast financial challenges and provide strategic inputs • Demonstrable IFRS and accounting software skills. • Experience in office operations, organisational development and institutional practices WeForest - Finance and Administration Manager, Ethiopia
• Proven experience of contributing to development and designing of proposals • In-depth knowledge and experience in statutory and donor financial reporting requirements • In depth understanding of Ethiopian Government tax laws and regulations pertaining to the NGO sector. • Ability to identify, assess, monitor and manage risks including developing mitigation strategies • Excellent report writing, strong analytical, networking and communication skills (verbal and written) • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Desirable: • Environmentally conscious • Experience in grant applications 6
