CRIMINAL JACKING SYSTEM

PLEASE DON'T TAKE THE PLEA! Written by: S. J. Allen

Attention all people in the hood, from the hood, or who has a little hood in them. Those who are guilty or not guilty, if you ever catch a case in the criminal justice system and have the money to obtain an attorney, do not, let me repeat, do not take a plea! Pleading out in- stead of fighting your case can end up causing you to not only lose all the money you gave your attorney to DEFEND YOU, but in return haunt your future. The criminal justice system does not offer justice for all. They rob you for your freedom and money. Most attor- neys suggest that you take a plea so they don't have to do their job. Don't think for a minute that they’re not in cahoots with the judges and the D.A. People feel that since I paid a lawyer to represent me then I can rely on their judgment as my legal advisor. Not knowing it's your life they hold in their hands. It’s up to you to decide wether to cop out for the shorter sen- tence which will cause you to accumulate strikes, or be a fighter and get your money's worth. I suggest you fight for your freedom. Three strikes in the commonwealth states holds a life sentence. So although those small sentence plea bargain's sound good at the time, re- ceiving that slap on the wrist for a shorter sentence is detrimental to your future. Let me break down the meaning of Plea Bargain. It's like a chess game for the judicial system allow- ing you more time to gain bars, bars are strikes. Bar- gain.. You get it? Don't fall victim to the trap! Once you gain three bars/strikes they take away your freedom, house you in a cor- rupt death hole while the criminal justice system is collecting money and profiting off of your ignorance. So that's like paying to fight a battle and throwing in the towel before the fight even starts. Sounds silly don't it? Fight, YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN! Don't get jacked by these lawyers. The whole government is getting paid and the community is doing their jobs pleading out making things easier for the D. A. Meanwhile your council receives free bands in exchange for you throwing in the towel. Informants are solving cases for the cops, what do we benefit if anything? Being incarcerated? Losing our freedom? Away from loved ones and wasting money. Please don't fall victim to the system. FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE, fight your case, because in the end it’s three strikes and YOUR OUT.

Plea bargaining can conclude a criminal case without a trial. When it is successful, plea bar- gaining results in a plea agreement between the prosecutor and defen- dant. In this agreement, the defen- dant agrees to plead guilty without a trial, and, in return, the prosecu- tor agrees to dismiss certain charges or make favorable sen- tence recommendations to the court. Plea bargaining is expressly authorized in statutes and in court rules. Plea bargaining can be ad- vantageous for both prosecutors and defendants. Prosecutors may seek a plea bargain in certain cases to save valuable court time for high-priority cases. Prosecutors often are amenable to plea bargain- ing with a defendant who admits guilt and accepts responsibility for a crime: plea bargaining in this context is considered the defen- dant's reward for confessing. Pros- ecutors also accept plea bargains because they are evaluated in large part according to their conviction rates and all plea bargains result in a conviction because the defendant must plead guilty as part of the plea agreement. Plea agreements are trouble- some because they are something less than a victory for all involved. Prosecutors are loath to offer ad- mitted criminals lighter sentences than those authorized by law. Like- wise, most criminal defendants are less than enthusiastic over the prospect of openly admitting crim- inal behavior without the benefit of a trial. Despite the reservations of the parties, plea agreements re- solve roughly nine out of every ten criminal cases. The sheer numbers have caused many legal observers to question the propriety of ram- pant plea bargaining. Source of information. www.legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/

Undefeated former world lightweight champion, Paul Spadafora will climb back into the ring on No-‐ vember 30, 2013. At age 38, he will attempt to continue his recent winning streak. The Mountaineer Casino has scheduled a night of boxing that will be headlined by the "Pittsburgh Kid". He will take on Venezuelan Johan Pérez at The Harv in Chester, W.Va. A victorious Spadafora (48-‐0-‐1), would tie the mark held by the Legendary Rocky Marciano (49-‐0) for most career wins without defeat. Spada-‐ fora has fought three times in the past year, winning each bout by unanimous decision, after nearly two years of inactivity that included going to rehab for substance abuse. Upon his return, he severed ties with long-‐time manager Al McCauley and promoter Michael Acri in July. He rejoined ex-‐trainer Yankel-‐ lo, new manager Robert Ortense, advisor Joe Horn and Troy Ridgley of TNT Promotions (a company advised by Roy Jones Jr.). The former IBF lightweight champion scored unanimous decisions over Humberto Toledo and Solomon Egberime to remain undefeated (47-‐0-‐1). A win over Rob Frankel (32-‐11-‐1) took him to (48-‐0-‐1). With another win November 30th, Paul could conceiv-‐ ably reach his ultimate goal -‐-‐ a megabout against WBC Welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-‐0). Welterweight Spadafora believes he edged the ubiquitoup-‐ ound-‐for-‐pound king in a sparring session 12 years ago. If given the opportunity, Paul trusts history will repeat itself. For now, his eyes remains on the prize while keeping Pittsburgh....... In the Spotlite!

Justice for Leon Ford! On November 2012, then 19-year-old, Leon Ford was shot and paralyzed from a traffic stop on Highland Ave in Pittsburgh, PA. Two Zone 5 officers pulled over Mr. Ford’s vehicle for allegedly running two stop signs. After receiving Mr. Ford’s li- cense, registration information, and insur- ance card, the two officers called a third of- ficer to the scene. The officers assert they did not believe Mr. Ford was who he claimed to be. Officer Debris showed up to the scene and hopped in the passenger seat of Mr. Ford’s car. Another officer pulled him from the driver window and a scuffle ensured. The car begin to move forward and five shots were fired by Officer Debris, that left Mr. Ford in critical condition for weeks. There was a dash cam video on the police car that captured the entire accident. This video is available on-line and has begun to spread like a fire through several social media sites.

People all across the United States are calling for an end to Police Brutality. Mem- bers from the Pittsburgh community, Attor- ney Benjamin Crump (Ford’s family attor- ney and former attorney for Trayvon Martin, Jeff Johnson (formally from BET), Alliance for Police Accountability and nu merous other local organizations in Pitts- burgh have taken a stand for Leon, who is no longer able to stand for himself. Leon Ford is a young man with a strong heart. Never been in any trouble and now raising his one year old son, Ford refuses to stop fighting. Ford is in high spirits and believes that this tragic event happened for him to tell his story. He has committed his life to working with youth and hopes to encourage youth who face tragic odds.

This is a clear incident of racial profiling, and this young man was told he’ll never be able to walk again be- cause of this injustice. The local DA has charged him with offenses that could result in over 20 years of jail time. The officers clearly violated mul- tiple codes and procedures when stop- ping Mr. Ford. It’s all caught on camera! The wrong cannot be denied in this case. NOW is the time for you to use your voice to speak up against racial profiling and this tragic incident! We are demanding that Officer Debris is placed on desk duty until the end of the investigation. We demand that these bogus charges against Mr. Ford are dropped immediately. Lastly, we demand that police brutality come to an end by investing resources into forming better relations between the police police and community. We as a com- munity our tired of dealing with vio- lence in our neighborhoods, and even more tired of dealing harassment and police brutality from those who are paid to protect and serve us!

Young Leon Ford Before the Altercation. “In Ford's case, police shot the young man multiple times during a routine traffic stop. In a strange twist, Ford now faces a 20-year prison sentence, although the offi- cers -- who may have lied and fal- sified facts of the case -- do not face charges.” Source: www.theroot.com

Boaz Boaz Bey, known more commonly as Boaz, allows his music to reflect his reality. His grind has been a steady and consis- tent trek to earning his current stature. Growing up in the neighborhood of Larimer in Pittsburgh, PA, he saw the street life from an early age. While in high school he linked up with another local rapper looking to start a record label. Together they released an EP, as well as the single, “It’s A lright." The song was picked up by Pittsburgh’s local radio station WAMO. "It's Alright" went picked on to win the battle of the beats contest for 8 weeks in a row. In 2003 he made his first mixtape, "Intent to Deliver." He then linked up with a local crew called The Govament. The Govament saw some success thanks to a series of CD’s hosted by Hip-Hop Heavyweight DJ Kay Slay in the mid-2000’s. After his venture with The Govament, Boaz went on a solo mission and released "The Phenomenal" solo album in 2007. This helped sparked his career as a solo artist. T hings went a step further the following year when he dropped the "Monumental Music" album which got him local support as well as national features that led to him having an article in XXL Mag- him azine. The notoriety continued to build after he dropped "The Audio Biography" album in 2009 which was distributed through iTunes and made ripples on independent albums charts. The fan base continued to build when he returned with his 2010 album, "Selling A Dream" and followed up in 2011 with "The Transition" album. The consis- tency helped secure a spot on The Smoker’s Club Tour in 2011. Boaz took a major step in solidifying himself as a national recording artist in 2012, when he officially linked with Rostrum Records. You can follow Boaz at www.boazofficial.com, Face- book, Twitter, Instagram and Soundcloud.
