Moulds A wide range of 15 upper and 6 lower Ivostar anterior moulds; 5 upper and 5 lower Gnathostar posterior moulds. The anteriors come in three profiles: triangular, square and oval, arranged from small to large. Shades The Chromascop shade guide comprises 20 shades based on the tried and tested Ivoclar Vivadent dentine shades. The Chromascop is therefore the shade guide for all prosthetic restorations for Ivoclar Vivadent metal-free ceramics, for IPS Empress, as well as for partial and complete dentures. Also moulds are available in 16 A–D and 4 Bleach shades. Layering Harmonised layering gives Ivostar/Gnathostar teeth the appearance of the natural dentition.

Criteria for Selection There are numerous methods employed in the selection of teeth, based on such criteria as the shape of the head, bodily structure, and male or female characteristics. Even if no information is available on the size, shape and position of the teeth, valuable points of reference can be obtained from the form of the maxilla. From the vast range of maxillary forms identifiable, three basic types can be inferred: square triangular oval If these three forms are used to group Ivoclar Vivadent teeth according to their anatomic characteristics, the following classification results.
31, 32, 33, 34, 35. These groups are characterised by teeth having a rejuvenating crown which tapers towards the cervical ridge. Gingivo-incisal curvature is somewhat more pronounced. The large central incisor has an attractive, slightly triangular form. The residual ridge is also triangular and basically indicated for cases with a cross-bite.
41, 42, 43, 44, 45. These moulds are basically quadrilateral and the central incisor relatively dominant. Gingivo-incisal curvature is moderate. The residual ridge is markedly square and tends to be indicated for cases involving a normal bite.
01, 02, 03, 04, 05. These groups are anatomically characterised by pronounced gingivo-incisal curvature. An oval residual ridge is often found in cases with a deep overbite.
