KATLA
Major Project in final year
KATLA is a compact piece designed for the smallest living spaces. Its dual role, work-space and storage, enables better use of space especially with the slim, wall-hung cabinet & fold-away work surface.
KATLA can be customised to other roles with different bits from its Kit of Parts. The design’s minimal, modern look ensures that the users enjoy interacting with this piece of furniture. KATLA is adaptable for reconfiguration, reuse through its life and eventual recycling at the end.
KATLA was my final major project when I was studying Product & Furniture Design in De Montfort University, Leicester. This project helped me gain insights about small living spaces and how to tackle issues within these environments. It has also broaden my knowledge about furniture making, materials and manufacturing techniques.
