age. With the arrival of Aunt Opal comes destruction and damage as her driving, cooking and discipline leave a lot to be desired. She’s not very responsible, either. But, what she lacks in parenting skills she makes up in the ‘fun aunt’ factor. Judy and Stink are worried at first, not knowing this strange-looking woman, but they soon realise that she is a lot of fun … much more fun than their parents! Between them, they think of a way that they can make the most of their summer together. They draw up a chart called ‘Judy Moody’s Mega-Rare NOT Bummer Summer Dare!’ Each person is given a list of dares to do and, if they complete their dare, they get 10 thrill points.

Stink has an ambition of catching Bigfoot, the ape-like, man-sized creature who lives in the wild, so that becomes his biggest goal of the summer. While Rocky and Amy take part in their own dares from Circus Camp and Borneo, Judy notices that she is falling rapidly behind in the thrill points total column. Every dare or adventure she attempts goes totally wrong. She decides she needs to up her game if she is to win the contest. The idea springs to mind of helping Stink find Bigfoot – if she can find Bigfoot, she is sure to win! Although their summer begins with disappointment, together, they end up having the most thrilladelic, super awesome summer ever!

The makers of this film searched all over the world to find their perfect Judy Moody, and they most definitely found her in Jordana Beatty. Jordana is a 13-year old actress from Australia. She looks like the Judy Moody from the books, with her messy red hair, infectious bubbly personality and a smile that is guaranteed to melt the hearts of parents and make children want to be like her. CRAFT CLUB

Craft Club is a Crafts Council and UK Hand Knitting Association initiative that provides children and young people with the opportunity to learn craft skills from members of their community. The scheme launched in schools in 2010 and there are now over 350 active Craft Clubs within schools around the UK. The first scheme, Knit One Pass it On! focused on knitting and the 2011 scheme Hook One Pass it On! focuses on crocheting. Craft Club is now expanding into the community and setting up clubs in museums, libraries and cinemas. It will work on the same premise with volunteers passing on their skills to others in a fun and lively environment – in this case to parents as well as children. It will strengthen bonds between local communities and between family members by enabling them to learn new skills together. 11 volunteer training events will take place across the UK this autumn and train up to 300 new volunteers on how to effectively and confidently pass on their skills to the next generation. These events will result in up to 300 new volunteers knowing how to effectively and confidently pass on their knowledge and skills to others. The training host venues will then be supported to set up a regular Craft Club at their venue using the trained volunteers. They will also be supported by the online resource www.craftclub.org.uk that provides practical tips, project ideas, and an online forum connecting people who are passionate about craft and learning new skills.

Mr Stink

Mr Stink is a musical adaptation of the children’s novel by David Walliams. The play is about a little girl, Chloe, who doesn’t like school. She’s not one of the cool kids, she doesn’t have a posh phone or a games console and doesn’t really have any friends. One day, she meets Mr Stink, the local tramp. Mr Stink smells a bit but he and Chloe become friends. If you’re returning to work, your CV will need updating. Here are our top tips to make sure yours goes to the top of the pile. Your CV should be neatly typed and proofread to avoid unwanted mistakes. There is nothing worse than sending off a CV and then noticing you have spelt a key word incorrectly. Also, your CV must be readable. Don’t choose a pretty-looking font; choose a font that is professional and easy to read. Try to keep it to two A4 pages. Any longer than two pages and employers will lose interest. Be positive about your experience, even if it is minimal. If you don’t sound pleased with your successes then neither will an employer. Target your CV to the company to which you are applying. Highlight qualifications and experience relevant to the role.

Keep it professional, but with a personal spin. A personal profile at the beginning of your CV should list your skills, experience and hobbies. Don’t go in to too much detail about your hobbies; just simply things like reading, walking and cycling. If you are a member of a club or society that can provide skills relevant to the role, this should be highlighted. Do not lie. It is surprising how many people are determined to make up information and past jobs on their CV: it will only catch you out if you are lucky enough to be offered an interview. Try not to leave any gaps in time. If an employer notices a two-year gap with no job listed, you should say what you were doing in that time. If you were out of work, try to put a positive spin on it by stating any voluntary work you did, any skills you picked up by looking for work etc. If you were on maternity or paternity leave, that must be stated too. If you have room – remember to keep it to two pages – include a note that says details of references are available on request. You do not have to state your referees on your CV, but encourage the employer by saying you have nothing to hide and that you are happy for your referees to be contacted.
