Currently in my 4th year, my interests in Architecture have always leaned towards understanding how people perceive and experience spaces, how their experiences lead them to interpret these spaces a certain way. A circle, where

This leads to underage employment to cope up with losses and low literacy rates. The women are illiterate and dependent on their husbands for sustenance.

Day 5, he can feel the tremors kick in, clogged throat, sweaty face, puffy eyes, an eternal haze. Day 5, he already thinks the fight is over he’s defeated, he’s depraved, he’s ill and counting his final days. Day 5, he looks around, however, and sees the courtyard, resounding with joy and laughter, of those who once were fighting, just like he was.
Day 6, if he survived yesterday, he can survive today and should this happen again, he’ll survive yet another day. If not for himself then for those 3 little girls who had to grow up sooner than he ever could.

Thennammadevi is a village which has recorded the highest percentages of alcohol abuse among men, especially during the lockdown. The dire situation of village led to the ‘Young girls’ club’, an initiave run by teen girls taking to create the best community life possible for the village, from fighting for bus stops to make trasportation accessible to the children to building libraries for the folk. The rehabilitation centre proposal is an aid to the initiative.

The chunky form with punctures protects the interiors from heating up during summer and provides a sense of enclosure. The northern facade has ample glazing and the southern facade has glazing with buffer corridors and louvres. Vertical circulation
The service circulation (light blue) leans towards the service roads for efficient working. 3 of the 5 main circulations (dark blue) are fire exits.
Courtyards
Apart from keeping the spaces cool, courtyards are waiting spaces. This makes the waiting period less intimidating. The planting adds to the comfortable experience.
Green spaces (a.)
The green spaces, one of which is a rooftop garden (a.) - are zones of visual relief, interactivity and recreation.

Zoning of facilities has been done in a way so as to club all the related facilities horizontally or vertically The diagnostics centre - lab and imaging has been centrally located for easy access to all dependent departments. The emergency entry is closer to the main gate for efficiency. CSSD, laundry are located near departments (ICU, OT, ER) which need quick and easy access to the services and cannot afford large wait time. The administration department is divided into two sections, the one of the lower level takes care of communications and finance - those in direct contact with the patient/visitor, the one on the upper level for departments which don’t require communication with the public.
Zoning 33
Every waiting space is a courtyard and visual connectivity is ensured across levels. This would keep the users occupied and reduce the anxiety levels during the waiting period.

My journey is a sacred one, a testament to my patience and will. And so I march forward towards the greater heights, against the freezing winds and the rocky lands. And yes, while my steps are tainted by the sea of glass and plastic, and I moan with every wailing scrunch that follows me, I hope that when I reach the final step, I am relieved of the grief that remains by my side, even as my journey ends.

The module has a metal frame structure which can be dismantled and set us easily. The walls are out over it through metal clamps, so the entire structure can be opened up to a few wall sheets and frames.
Staircases, platforms and railings are modular in nature as well, and can be attached according to requirements, making the entire system very ephemeral.

Weekly Market Assembling 4 modules together to form a mini storage unit for local markets as another alternative after completion of the yatra. The ensemble would have an external layer of corrugated sheet for better protection. The whole assembly could be used as weekly or tourist markets. The size of the shops can be varied according to the user requirement.
Multifunctional Hall The members could be reassembled to form a rigid frame, using tarp to cover the voids. The walls could be used as a flooring while the corrugated sheet could be the roofing material. This could double up as a storage warehouse, or a community space which could be used by locals fo their functions and events.

The Moon Jelly pavilion
53
Conducted by oneistox at SPA Campus, the workshop was in two parts. Part 1 consisted of learning the software Rhinoceros and the supporting computational tool Grasshopper, which concluded with pavilions design in groups (The Moon Jelly Project)
Part 2 comprised of understanding the execution process of a parametric design. A Pangolin pavilion was planned to be constructed in the SPA, Delhi campus. This included hands-on tasks like screwing up and organising tiles, lending a hand in processes like welding of joints and other such tasks. A site visit to one of the ANT Studio projects was organised for a better understanding of the execution requirements and processes.

The structure is made of RHS framework, clad with customised Mangalore tiles. The clamps were in two parts, the flats which were cut on site and the clutch which was again a customised element, based on the angle of the tile.

Step 2 : Understand the anatomy of the human body. The curves of the body provide a natural guideline for the shape of the seat.
Suspender seat belt Increased impact of a jerk from sideways seatbelt
Step 3 : Safety considerations. Suspender type seat belts transfer loads through the clavicle rather than the ribs, reducing chest deflections.
When force is applied on a flat object atop which is a rolling body, the latter tends to move in a direction opposite to the former as a result of Inertia.
Roller wheels
Spring and Hydraulic press
Adding wheels to the car seat would hence allow freedom of motion in a direction opposite to the impact on the vehicle.
The suspension would act like a seatbelt for the seat.
M e c h a n i s m
Wheels
The set-up of wheels and secondary track sits on the main channels. The secondary track reduces motion of the wheels and the axles ensure wheel alignment

The final design is a car seat with jerk attenuation mechanism. The arches and divisions on the seat are comfort points, along with a slight upward arch of the seat for the knee-pit of the leg to rest comfortably.
