2012 / design of PPA Architecture Studio / Warsaw Design of an office building with retail space on a ground floor and 2-story underground garage. Our aim was to maximize rentable area and to obtain architectural integrity and ellegance of form. Project consists of two phases which are completly separate from legal point of view, but they construct a compositional yet functional integrity. An important issue during a design process was maximizing flexibility of arragment of an office space (taking into account the quantity of potential tenants and office typologies). Especially in first phase building which contains high-rise part it demended precise adn accurat design of architectural and facility elements. In this project I was involved from the very start in the concept phase and in building permit design where I elaborated the majority of architectural drawings.

2012-2013 / competition entry with PPA architecture studio / III prize and realization / Świnoujście, Poland Design of a hotel and apartament complex with aquapark and conference center. The proposal, although being awarded III prize, was appreciated by the private investor and chosen for realization. The idea of the design was to create a spece of transition between land and sea - sharp ortogonal lines of the city and smooth curves of waves. This concept reveals itself both in plan and in section of the buildings, remaining most legible in public spaces of the complex: passage leading to the sea which concentrates numerous attractions. Preliminary outlines and shapes of the building was precisly adapted to the strict planning regulations and complex functional program. Wstepne obrysy budowli zostały nastepnie In the concept design phase I was coordinating general shapes of the building and public space and I was responsible for preparing visualizations. In succesive stages I was involved in variety of tasks (elaboration of drawings, renderings, making presentations, interior design etc.)
2011 / Wydział Architekury Politechniki Warszawskiej / under arch. Paweł Grodzicki / Szydłów, Poland Master thesis project consisting of theoretical text and architectureal design. In this work I was examining the changes that the IT revolution brings to the built environment of polish small cities. I was argueing that denographical, economical and social transformations connected with technological development are concerning not only to metropolis but also to smaller towns, which will influence strongly its future. In the design part I was trying to apply theoretical conclusions in the real context of the city. As a sample location I have chosen Szydłów - small town in southern Poland, mainly because of strong contrast between its former splendor (that we can see looking at preserved historical monuments) and todays stagnation. As a solution I proposed a process called New Location an analogy to historic loction which was an architectonic, demographic, cultural, legal and technological process of colonization and foundation of the city.
SMALL tOWN IN THE INFORMATION AGE
Prealiminary urban analisis showed that for the proper town development the key issue remains work processes. Development of workplaces will stimulate creation of new residential projects and public spaces. That is why the conteporary worplaces were proposed as a main theme of this project. This newly created space should meet the requirements of modern, "informational" work processes. But taking into account the specific environment of town, I did not decide to intoduce large scale office buiding into it. Instead of it I proposed a series of small spaces dedicated to work "scattered office building". Its parts are spread in various empty plots of Szydłów filling its tissue and constituing a legible symbol of transformations. Each object is independent from the functional point of wiev, however, they can connect and colaborate generating structura; entity. Thr process of dispersion "liberates" all parts of office that was previously concentrated, and allows them to open to its context. They enter into relations with surrounding open space and green areas creating more friendly and human scale work environment. Spatial disposition of object follows specific strategy based on wi-fi connections and plot characteristics. Each object in specific plot uses standard architectural and structural solutions but it also "deformates" and adapt itself to,local context (by changing layout and roof shape.
2010 / Warsaw Design od complex revitalization of former industrial Kamionek district on the right bank of river Vistula. This project was created in cooperation with local non-goverment organizations and it was presented to inhabitants and local authorities. Kamionek is the oldest part of the rightside Warsaw (Praga) and that is why it can be considered the "old town" of it. It has also nostalgic downtown atmosphere and small-scale architecture. It is then desired to preserve and even reinforce this character while improving the technical standards of it. The revitalization process seems necessary due to its poor technical and urban conditions, caused by recent transformations in indystry and generally in economy. The design proposal is also a polemic with the plans of building a main road through the center of Kamionek splitting it into two parts. Instead of this, design proposes creation of system of public squares with a main one with a marketplace and underground parking. Raalisation of this square could catalize the process of revitalization of
kamionek PRAGA'S OLD TOWN
Kamionek district creating positive aura around this area and attracting possible investors. New buildings should complement the existing urban tissue and create new urban block in former industrial areas. District should be characterized by high rate of bulit-up area and low or average building hight. Eventually it will generate medium urban intensity. Another key issue is reorganization of transport. Area should become more pedestrian and bike friendly. In order to achieve this, the "shared-space" zone was proposed in a large part of district, where there are no traffic signs and whole traffic is regulated only by the culture of its users.

2008 / competition entry with PPPW Architectural studio, Kielce / Sandomierz, PL Competition tas was to adapt existing parochial hall and to create new addition on adjacent plot. Preset program included audiovisual hall, restaurant, bookshop, conference rooms, some hotel rooms and underground garage. In our proposal we decided not to expand existing builing but to create new one with its own identity that would complement the rhytm of the facades on this side of the street.
CENTER OF EUROPEAN CULTURE IN SANDOMIERZ
Specific localization and plan resulted from desire to keep existing trees and views. Characteristic twist of second floor creates intriguing interior spaces and allows view to penetrate through the plot. The building was shaped to harmonize with peak walls of surrounding buildings. It was also important to fit in the roof in sculptural panorama of historic Sandomierz. Chosen material - red brick - is typical to major public buildings of the city (Town Hall, Cathedral) and it underlines the importance of designed building.
tiro a segno parco delle tecnologie sostenibili
2007 / Politecnico di Milano / under prof. Cino Zucchi / Mediolan The task of the design workshop was to find a new physical asset for the area of the former shooting range area in Milan working on the cross relationships between programs and forms, evaluating the complex interplay between instruments and objectives and between the different “focal lengths” under which a place can be seen. In this sense, finance, urban planning, landscape design, architecture, exhibition design, light design, environmental design, visual arts, event making, rather than to be seen as different disciplines or approaches to urban transformation, could be employed as the keys of an “urban organ” capable of producing a convincing new melody. /Park organization/ My proposal was a form of parametric environment rather than traditional park with a builing inside. The park is built of various smaller spaces. Those spaces which are its basic elements can be called cells. They differ between themselves in scale, shape, substance, vegetation, open-closed relation. They do not have any defined function but through their properties evoke certain ways of use. Those cells go in various spatial, visual and functional relations between themselves and as a result, character of particular space is created also in a relation with adjecant spaces.
/Flux/ Park is not created as a contaposition of paths and “green islands”. Movement is organized as a continous flux between basic spaces. In this way the major part of movement is sustained by the most capable cells. Hierarchy of flux creates itself automatically from below. /Museum/ The idea of the park is to create diversity capable of adapting different functions. Whole area of park is therefore a potential exposition space. In the central part however, cells become more and more regular and closed. As a result they create a fixed-exposition space. Even though those cells work as “rooms” in a museum, there is no defined border between park and museum. Instead of binary alternative there is an analogue transition of spaces. The part of the park becomes museum understood as a closed exposition space but exhibitions can exceed its walls by occupying other spaces following numerous various scenarios. Closed museum volume is perforated by open spaces which in this context becomes courtyards. Educational space is connected with the expositional one but it has its separate communication and services.
