This building is the iconic of wealthiness during 90th but in the same time is also representation of mass production and the failure of Thai’s economic system.
One building after another building is now rising in Bangkok, attempting to carry out the demands of its residents, which is growing rapidly year by year. This busy massive city is on its go. And the only direction it is heading towards is to reach the status of being ,,modern”, taking Europe and America as its prime models. Thus the city still occupies a quality of being ,,various’’. Variety in its population, food, culture and also architecture, or so to say variation in all its components. When we are in “B a n g k o k ” we will be overwhelmed by its chaos, not only that everything seems to be placed in a mess, or that different kinds of sound could be heard from every direction but also the structure of the city itself can bring us into the confusion, since it is not well planned and therefore unpredictable. Once we stand in front of the gigantic modern building, consisting of many different brand name stores or office space of any big company. Right next to it we could be facing a slum. This is a result of a loosely structured social system, where considerable variation of individual behavior is allowed and therefore where neatness, discipline and administrative regularity are often neglected.
1997 ASIAN FINANCIAL CRISIS The period of time when the city grew so rapidly, resulting in the development of many areas in Bangkok. Followed by a rise of many many high rise buildings. Some of which were built to serve as department stores, office buildings and residential space.
Unfortunately in 1997, financial crisis started in Thailand which was also known as ‘The Tom Yum Goong crisis’. The crisis was the financial collapse of Thai Baht due to the lack of foreign currency to support its currency peg to U.S. Dollar. At the time, thailand had acquired a burden of foreign debt that made the country effectively bankrupt even before the collapse of its currency.
As a result, not only businesses were forced to close down, many projects were either delayed or paused such as this residential building project of Satorn unique. Since then the building remained unfinished and became well-known as a ghost tower, one of the many attractive tourist spots in Bangkok
Multiplicity among conformity: unique meets mass...... ,,Sathorn Unique Tower” or wellknown as ,,Ghost Tower” is a unfinished building project, locating in Central Business District nearby Chaopraya river, Where price per square meter of property is very high. It was being constructed as a mega condominium and hotel project. With a mega budget, 49 stories and 185 meters tall building was built. The building was influenced by Neo-classical style which representation of luxury and wealthiness of Thai people in that period. The building stood at a peak of Thailand’s economical and was able to accomodate over 600 residences in the middle of such a big city like Bangkok. The building is thus obliged to be tall, whereby living area is divided into small spaces. A repeated pattern of interior plan and exterior design is therefore to be found. This duplication causes an architectural style, characterized by its conforming character, conformity as a result of mass production. The building has sat rotting for over 17 years, derelict and allegedly haunted. Sathorn Unique Tower is both a symptom of local boom and bust urban development and an unlikely new symbol for the city as a major “ruin porn.”
With the design, where cooccurrence of two different systems is possible, that is to say conformity system, which is based on design of repetitious rigid form and structure, and multiplicity system, where arbitrary surface is to be found, a concept of Individuality should be encouraged, where the exercise of an individual’s goals and desires and therefore value independence and selfreliance gain in importance.

One unit size 4.00 X 10.00 M. Is this the living for the wealth people? 4 m.
Exterior is designed by using luxurious Neo-classical style to represent wealthiness which, on the other hand, turned out to be another mass production to lower construction cost. Interior is divided into small units. This raised a question of whether this was a result of social enforcement that led people to believe owning a unit in such building signified wealth? IDOL | CONFORMNITY | INDIVIDUALITY
Aside from the fact that thai people’s behavior is non- regularized or individual, which reflect their character of being flexible and adaptive to given situation, they are also oriented themselves towards smooth interpersonal relationship ( no-conflict interaction), which means they place high value on the group of ,,other-directed” social interaction values, instead of focusing on self- actualization. Thai society is therefore to be considered as ,,affiliative society”, in which people depend on one another and find their
securities through patronage rather than depending on themselves as an individual. Thais have thus a high need for affiliation and approval, displayed by their needs for friendship, love, warmth and social acceptance, resulting in characteristics such as absence in self-confidence, self-discipline and self-respect. Thais experience therefore either high level of conformity or deviation. Paradoxically, Thais do things as they please and do not respect rules while on the other hand insecure, lack of
self-confidence and compliant to social norm and value. Randomness in behavior (individualized behavior) brings out ,,multiplicity”, characterizing oneself in accordance with social values and conventions results in restriction of difference and therefore in suppression of individualization (loss of individual identity), which leads to ,,conformity”

PERSEPCTIVE FROM THE RIVERSIDE
DESIGN............... A non-uniform surface is being used to break down the rigid structure of the building. By combining rigid forms and smooth edges, the interface emerges creating a new kind of void inside. This void acts like a chamber that gives a sense of relaxation and serenity to its occupant. Also, the void helps opening up a rigid building and at the same time connecting all functions together.
PERSEPCTIVE FROM MAIN ENTRANCE ROAD
To organize the existing unit space by using public space to merge the units and individually separate the units without interfering with the existing grids and patterns of the building. By using this organization, the building itself is divided into small buildings within the big building. Which creates the new type of high rise that does not show the outcome of mass-production.

THIS PERSPECTIVE SHOW HOW THE SPACE IS DEVIDED FROM THE PUBLIC AREA IN THE BOTTOM TO INDIVIDUAL AREA ON THE TOP
PROGRAM............ As “education education” plays an important role in social development and the way people think and perceive things. The education system in Thailand does not allow students to be independent or have an idea of their own. It is almost like force feeding certain knowledge into the students’ brains. While they learn history, economics and thousands and thousands of facts just to be able to memorize and recall them when needed during exams. Instead of learning to understand and be able to use certain knowledge in real circumstances (results of mass education). More over, the programs in ‘Educorise’ should give students the opportunities to get to learn about themselves through provided psychology and personality test, so that they can be able to choose the further education on their own. This inspires the idea of using part of this building as a live museum that first time user can have a route to go through the test and all over the building. Instead of dividing the departments like most campas. The Educorise is divided by its functions and facilities. The film studio, workshop space and lab are put together in the same area aiming for students who may have more than one interest to combine their studies in different subjects. Not only providing the facilities for learing but also provide the actual space to practice.
The building is divided into two main functions which are Commercial and Education. Each category consists of Public and Individual. - Public commercial - Market and 3D landscpae - Individual Commercial - Office Building - Public Education- Open Auditorium, Library, workshop, studio, lab etc. - Individual Education- CGI simulation, virtual reality, parallel search engine which helps you understand more in the deep detail. For example you can discuss with Plato face to face by using cgi technology.

Everywhere can be a stage. Everyone can be an audience. The audience look at the artist. The educator look at the audience.
After the fall of the wall. Berlin is full of disused spaces and abandoned buildings, just waiting to be filled with the new life. It is unclear who owns any of this, which allows the techno scene to take over these new emthy spaces in both halves of the city. Clubs, galleries, alteliers and studios spring up - only to disappear again a few weeks later. Soon Berlin has become the epicentre of a new culture, attracting enthusiastic followers from all over the world to clubs like the Tresor and the E-Werk and dance the night away among writers, artists, photographers, designers, DJs, club-owners, music producers, bouncers and scenesters, people from the centre of the movement and from its peripheries. Techno became the soundtrack of
”reunification-era”
Berlin for three main reasons: the pure kinetic energy of the new sounds, the magic of the places it was played and the promise of freedom it contained. Techno was a music that called for participation, a
sound of ”flat hierarchies.” identify themselves with a story.
Flat hierarchies applied to a concept of new construction, with it planned to create a new form of theatre building or so to say a new kind of art house, that should allow any possibility of integration.
With this “integration” mean to eliminate all marked segmentation such as a clear partition between stage and auditorium, or even stage and backstage. All this boundary should be tear down in oder to create a new world of theatre, where everyone can see everything that happen parallel to each other during the performance.
Audience There should then not be any definite separation of anything from anything anymore, stage and auditorium and backstage as well should be placed homogeneously. With this, a new kind of experience should arise. This also reflect an opposite site of discontinuous form of perception of people, who live in the big city, where sense of wholeness is destructed due to increasing urbanization, which divide city into parts, for example living area is separated from working area or business area etc., as a consequence people who live in a big city lose an overview of their own city plan, as they perceive it piece by piece. This theatre should then offer them a compensation.

In Berlin, where many artists and entrepreneurs renovate empty industrial facilities. Buildings from the Cold War are being restored and patched, so they could host both alternative and mainstream art spaces. Kraftwerk Berlin, formerly a large power plant which eventually got abandoned. The building of Kraftwerk symbolizes different times, a time of industrial age and Berlin Wall. It’s located at the centre of Berlin, on the Köpenicker Straße. Its purpose was to power the former East German regions of Berlin. Now a day Kraftwerk Berlin is considered a culture center often flooded with a dynamic mix of art which is the iconic symbol of freedom, peace, and innovative ideas, a relic of a reunification of the East and West culture. Kraftwerk Berlin will be home
for Berliner Liste events and artistic collectives. There will be gallery boxes, spaces, screening rooms, a place for workshops and lectures and plenty of resting areas for visitors to wind down and enjoy the creative atmosphere.

The project takes the name from the Transhumanism philosophy which believes into augmenting the human body through biological modifications, we applied the same logic in our project for the interaction between the existing building, Seagram Building by Mies van der Rohe, and the new addition, so our proposal configurate itself as a interpretation of the miesian masterpiece. H+ is a Plug-in Headquarter in Park Av., New York, for the biotechnology company Amgen taking inspiration from trabeculae structure in the bone we came up with a transition between the beam ornament of the facade and vertical volume that would hold the production labs and public space. Throught subsequential multiplication and overlay of different combination of profiles we came up a new structural morphology and into creating three different layers of surfaces that define the interior subdivision, connecting the six prostethic towers on the corners and the research lab. We explore the idea of an automated vertical lab, a system of vertical machinery that produce biomedicine without the need of human contribution, which we place as a program intentionally towards the facade as a branding operation for the company.

HEADQUARTERS | AMGEN Amgen is an American multinational biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Thousand Oaks, California. Located in the Conejo Valley, Amgen is the world’s largest independent biotechnology firm. The company is committed to unlocking the potential of biology for patients suffering from serious illnesses by discovering, developing, manufacturing and delivering innovative human therapeutics. This approach begins by using tools like advanced human genetics to unravel the complexities of disease and understand the fundamentals of human biology.
CONCEPT | TRABECULA STRUCTURE A trabecula (plural trabeculae, from Latin for “small beam”) is a small, often microscopic, tissue element in the form of a small beam, strut or rod, generally having a mechanical function, and usually composed of dense collagenous tissue (such as the trabecula of the spleen.) They can be composed of other materials; in the heart, for example, muscles such as trabeculae carneae and septomarginal trabecula form similar structures. The formation of trabeculae is known as trabeculation.

Istanbul as a cross road between Europe and Asia as one of the most important meeting point for trade, transport and tourism in the history is today changing to the biggest transport node in the whole world. The train station „Arc de celerité“ is the last part of the infrastructure connecting Asia and Europe. Within this station one can smoothly change to global, regional and local trains or change to sea or air transport mode. Thanks to moving platforms those are serving the whole station you never need to wait for a train. By this unique system of constant movement Istanbul is gaining the energy not just for being a hub itself but the port can also produce 20% of the energy needed for the whole city. „Arc de celerité“ is not just an artificial gateway to Europe but for its location it is also a gateway to the heart of the old city of Istanbul. The train station is at the same time serving as a seaport, a shopping mall and a hotel.. All these programs are penetrated by the public spaces and greenery which is running along the whole 3 km long building and at the same time binding the station with the city.

The TRADING POINT Arpapan Chantanakajornfung | Viki Sandor | Maximin Reider | WS13 The TRADING POINT Project shows an alternative for the continental trading- network system. The idea was developed through the analyses of a historical interlinking trade-route network, the Silk Road, where the project site is located. The TRADING POINT would introduce a new system between import, export and local production and the movement of the products, inside the building would create the interiority of its market space. The design process was based on jumps between the 3D geometry - which we developed from the shape of the octahedron by using the logic of the Hamilton-loop as mathematical strategy and its manipulated 2D images. The end result is carved out eroded interior space under ground which provides protection against the extreme environmental changes and activates the building’s zones independently of weather and time.

The book that takes a very frank look at the problems endemic in current cities and show how this new approach could provide novel and extremely exciting solutions. For example, how to make use of the spaces within such a dense city like Hong Kong. How to make use of parking area which is not being used to its maximum benefit to provide a proper transportation like Berlin. How to make use of huge empty spaces like those in Rio De Janeiro. This is a guideline on how to maximize the space to improve the quality of life.

CONCEPT DESIGN | CONSTRUCTION DRAWING | ON SITE ARCHITECT
After the first design was done the owner wanted to adjust the design so that it allows more space and also change the function of the building from residential building to and office building. We redesigned the building and came up with an idea of a ‘floating building’ The concrete 4 storeys box surrounded by water which make the building look more lighter.

HOLIDAY INN 22 SUKHUMVIT 22 | BANGKOK | THAILAND HOTEL BUILDING SODA (THAILAND) | 2009 - 2012 CONCEPT DESIGN | CONSTRUCTION DRAWING
The concept for the new Holiday Inn located on Sukhumvit Soi 22 Bangkok was to create an iconic building of unique form and powerful presence that would distinguish itself among the typical pastiche of building typologies and architectural styles along the now vibrant Sukhumvit commercial district of Bangkok. The tower design is a three-dimensional geometric experience activated by its site and program. The oblique geometric structure conveys a sense of architectural integrity and formal clarity. It is a design and building that is confident, and knows what it wants to be.
BALI BATU BILAH BATU BELAH | BALI RESORT AND SPA SODA (THAILAND) | 2010 CONCEPT DESIGN
The concepts and design for Batu Belah, or Twin Emerald, or split rock as is the site’s location is known are equally multi-layered,dense and inspired by unique characteristics of this place, it’s tri hita karana so to speak: the mountain = volcano l the site = Temple and tree I The sea = river of Black Rock/Black sand. Balinese are among the few island people who turn toward the mountains rather than the sea. Gods and Foddess occupy the mountains and other spirits are the ocean depths The people live between the sea and the mountain.

ZIRE WONGAMAT PATTAYA | THAILAND RESIDENTAIL CONDOMINIUM TOWERS SODA (THAILAND) | 2009 - 2014 CONCEPT DESIGN | CONSTRUCTION DRAWING
A form and massing of geometrical clarity and order – technically expressive of the shear wall structure necessary for these towers. The views, planning and structure dictated a plan configuration appearing as horizontally stacked and spaced slabs of quarry cut stone: Monolithic in presence, the towers appear of enormous weight, primitive power and a permanent work of architecture. The striated vertical tower edges are metaphorically held together with tendons of wood interior partitions.

OXY_CLMN PHYTOSOLAR BALLROOM EXHIBITION OF IN TERACTIVE STRUCTURES Breatable Column Arpapan Chantanakajornfung | Artur Stashkevitsh | Moritz Hanshans | Noemi Polo | WS14
Oxy_Clmn is a one-to-one scale inverted breathing system that transforms excess carbon dioxide of the near environment into pure oxygen. A branching hybrid object with embedded digital and physical cirquits reads/translates data such as movement and activity of people. Interconnected panels form artificial respiration organs and feed algae bags with CO2 which in turn release O2 to the surrounding spaces. Bio-components are sustained by increasing or decreasing LED light supply. Installation aims to achieve chemical equilibrium in the air of Sala Terrena but also showcase its machinery and breathing mechanics to interact directly and indirectly with passers-by. Movement and sounds of inflating and deflating components, bubbling of CO2, visual influence of different materialities merge into (a)rhytmic bio-digital system parasiting on the walls of exhibition space.
