The Position The Senior Director of Media Relations serves as an advisor to both the Associate Vice President of Strategic Communications and senior leaders on media relations strategies that elevate the university and its three campuses with local, regional and national media. The Senior Director of Media Relations should be well versed in issues management and crisis communications. Should have excellent relationships with print, broadcast and digital media locally, regionally and nationally and deep experience in pitching and packaging stories. Responsible for developing a media relations strategy that is integrated with the university’s marketing, internal communications and web/digital strategies and overseeing the university’s newsroom, sourcing stories that elevate Pacific’s reputation and brand. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Strategic Communications, the Senior Director of Media Relations serves as a senior member of the emergency management team and as a public information officer and university spokesperson. The Senior Director of Media Relations should excel in relationship-building and be comfortable collaborating with colleagues and faculty, staff, students and administrators across the university’s three campuses. This position is located on the Stockton Campus and will work on campus. It is not remote.

We oversee the university’s brand identity including graphic design, photography/videography and print and digital publications.
