University of the Pacific First Gen Hub Pacific’s First Gen Hub is a dynamic space where Pacific’s first-generation students from diverse backgrounds can find a home-away-from-home. Our skilled and passionate staff will help you develop leadership and community-building skills as well as find academic and professional connections. The Hub is on the first floor of the McCaffrey Center.
First Gen Services We offer three distinct programs to support first-generation students’ academic, social and professional development. Although these direct services are limited to their target recipients, the Hub welcomes all Pacific students to engage and contribute. *A first-generation college student is defined as a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a bachelor’s degree.
Community Involvement Program (CIP) CIP is a comprehensive, need-based scholarship and retention program for first-generation college students from the Stockton community who have demonstrated the potential for sustainable leadership, community awareness and involvement. Pacific Promise Scholars This program assists former foster care and unhoused students who need resources to successfully transition to college life. They will work with Pacific staff to develop a foundation for success in college through advocacy, mentorships, referrals and scholarships.
