• Gaiters keep mud out of the tops of boots and offer leg protection when snakes are around, they are highly recommended for walks that cross button grass plains. • Climate is unpredictable. On the Overland Track you can experience up to 4 seasons in one day. • Food for your whole trip must be carried along the trail, as well as a fuel if walking the Overland Track stove since campfires are totally banned on this trail.
