In a world focusing more and more on globalization and optimization, we’re proud of developing and producing products for kayak sports here in Rosenheim/Germany as a family-owned enterprise for over 50 years. One of our principles is to „produce and purchase as close to the customer as possible”. This strategy ensures jobs in our region and guarantees a high level of quality management. You as a paddler help us to carry the name PRIJON into the world. Our products are well-reputed all over the world and have many friends, trusting the reliable work of our production. Above all, the owner Toni Prijon has many years of experience paddling and developing. With his team he develops new models, and tests them individually himself.
Kayaks from an ecological point of view: All polyethylene-kayaks consist mostly of fossil oil and are produced with a high energy input. Transport takes place up to 95% on the roof of cars. So, kayaking per say is a un-eco activity. We calculated the amount of energy needed for the production of our HTP-kayaks. The accruing energy costs, from the production of the raw hull, over the production and mounting of the detachable parts up to the average energy costs for the delivery of the components and the shipping of the finished kayaks to the shops, total in approx. 500 KWh. Hereby it becomes clear, that a long useful life of the product is the crucial factor for the balance of energy. During the planning process of the kayaks and detachable parts we already focus on their longevity. Our material HTP is the key advantage, its longevity is incomparable. During the production of the hull no waste accumulates. Worn-out hulls are taken back by us and recycled. Further factors for a positive energy balance are: We produce at the point where the market is. Our HTP kayaks are made in Rosenheim. This ensures short distances to our shops. Short delivery distances of our suppliers. More than 80% of our detachable parts come from suppliers, located within a radius of about 300 km from the head quarters in Rosenheim. This results in low energy costs for the delivery and an increase in the country’s value chain. In-house generation of energy. The process heat of the production of the hulls is used for the heating of the production hall. Another amount of our needed energy is covered by our photovoltaic system. We have seen with our own eyes that most of the textiles used in the kayak industry are made in Far East. This causes very high transport-energy-costs for their delivery. Our “women workers” in our in-house sewing room make all of our sewed parts. By doing so, we save costs and energy for the delivery, maintain important jobs and can guarantee the fulfillment of your high quality requirements.

Regarding boat shape you can simplify: long + slim = wobbly + fast short + wide = stable + slow Further distinctions can be made regarding the equipment of the kayak. If you are looking for a kayak for tours with luggage, then allround touring boats or fast single kayaks are better suited, as they have certain standards of equipment, like water-tight storage and perfectly adjustable seating position.

Here you will find well-tried allrounders for luggage tours, for example the Touryak, agile kayaks for fast-moving rivers, like the new ENDURO 450 and various twoseaters. These boats have been constructed a bit shorter and broader to provide a higher level of base stability.
These kayaks are very similar to the allrounders with regard to boat shape. They have good tracking and are good to maNEWver. The essential difference is the technical equipment of the boats. There are fewer waterproof storages and the seating is also simpler. Therefore these boats are very well suited for short tours without a lot of luggage or for kayak rental.

Agile enough for the swift-flowing, curvy headwaters, on the other hand not too sluggish on standing water. Enough storage for a multi-day-trip with a complete equipment is also included. The ENDURO is the perfect synthesis of Tornado, Touryak and the time-honored Yukon Expedition. No Prjion kayak is more universally usable. Hans Memminger would be excited.
The ENDURO 380 is shorter than its big brother and has a heavier rocker. The compact measurements make him more agile and fast-reacting. Rivers and easy whitewater up to class 2 are his terrain. The nicely shaped BORA paddle is an economical version of our profiled touring paddles. The blade consists of a dry impact resistance polyamide 6 with UV stabilizers, enriched with approx. 35% glass fibre, providing it with a high level of rigidity and very high impact resistance.
With a blade size reduced by approximately 25% and a smaller shaft diameter, compared to the BORA paddle, this paddle is especially suited for teenagers and small adults. The low weight and the small effort needed, make it possible to paddle also longer distances without tiring quickly. Our Passat paddles are unfortunately not available with PaddLock-system.

NYLON black / yellow or red Basic spraydecks for touring on domestic waterways, protecting against spray and rain. They’re a bit more favorably priced, but still hold well on the boat.

Prijon Boat carts For transporting your kayak from the car to the water and back and in case of walking passages during tours, we offer you a large assortment of boat carts. The choice for the right cart depends on the type of the kayak and the requirements to the pack size. Smaller and lighter carts are easier to store in the kayak, larger carts with bigger wheels roll better in rough terrains and don’t cave in that easily.
The Prijon Transport programm In our program you find a wide range of tools, helping you transporting and handling your kayak. It starts with the loading on the car roof. You need a base support, officially approved for your car. These base supports are available at car dealers. We offer you kayak-specific accessories which you will find on the following pages. Load assist for bars with bottom slot Loading your boat made easy with the PRIJON load assist! Fits every roof rack - easy handling even for smaller persons. A common problem…the kayak is heavy and the height of the cars increases. Many paddlers are cannot get into enjoying kayaking due to the sometimes very energy-consuming handling. The PRIJON load assist makes it possible for one person to load a kayak without any extra help. The load strap prevents the kayak from slipping backwards. The bow is placed on the extension, the stern lifted on the rack. Push the extension in, strap down the boat, done! This seat cushion for the PRIJON tour seat is a great help for paddlers who have problems sitting in the boat for a longer time. The cushion is filled with plastic beads and can be adjusted with a vacuum pump, the cushion then fits perfectly, because it takes the individual seat shape of the paddler. Get in – pump – feel comfortable!
The included lumbar support can be adjusted via the backrest. Seat made of sturdy Nylon material with included foam padding, back rest cushioned with preformed foam wedge. Suitable for many different types of seat.

Transport and storage Prijon HTP – boat hulls are very sturdy and hard-wearing. The material used has already received its permanent protection against UV rays. Normal ground impact occurring when touring cannot harm the hull. Transport with standard roof racks is easy. Slight deformations caused by the cargo straps will go back to the normal shape within minutes after unloading the kayak. When transporting longer boats over longer distances, we recommend you to additionally secure the ends of the boat with straps. If the boat is permanently stored outside, the boat hull should be covered, in order to prevent premature fading of the colour. Temperatures of -40° C to +60° are no problem at all. Even under such extreme conditions, HTP will keep its flexibility and sturdiness. It is not necessary to treat it with varnishes, wax or other polishing substances. These would become apparent on the surface and cause unattractive discolourations. For cleaning, just use warm water with a dash of washing-up liquid.

HTP
HTP - Hightech-Thermoplast For the production of its world-famous HTP-kayaks, PRIJON is using a special PE, called HTP. This material can only be used in blow-moulding and not in roto-moulding, as used by other producers of kayaks. The molecule chains of HTP are approximately 10 times longer than those of rotated PE. This makes the boat hulls stiffer, lighter and less susceptible to abrasion. HTP-kayaks have clear advantages regarding form stability, abrasion and boat weight, compared to kayaks made of rotated PE. HTP is very environmentally friendly. When it is recycled, there are no poisonous gases or residues; it is ground water neutral and free of heavy metals. Care: HTP-boat shells are very sturdy and already possess a permanent protection against UV-rays. Therefore they need no treatment with varnishes, wax or other care materials.

Prilite For PriLite boats, the ABS-combination plates, sealed with UV-resistant perspex, are pulled into the hot moulds, which have a temperature of approximately 80 degrees, in a computerized process, using heat and vacuum. The upper and lower parts of the boat are inseparably joined together by a double-sided U-profile. This profile additionally strengthens the sides of the kayak against impact. The mounting of deck mountings and interior fittings are thoroughly done by hand, as on all Prijon boats. Advantages: PriLite boats are approx. 20% lighter than comparable kayaks made of HTP. At the same time there is a clear advantage regarding stability compared to GRP or Carbon/Aramide. Repairs/Care: Superficial scratches can be polished off with a special paste, available in specialized shops. Larger repairs are made with Epoxi. The inside of the boat should not be permanently exposed to sun (store upside down!).

Laminated kayaks Laminated kayaks are made by hand in the traditional way. They are more sensitive to contact with the ground compared to boats made of HTP or PriLite, and should therefore be predominantly used in free-flowing waters. PRIJON is offering the two material varieties of GPR and Carbon/Aramide. CARBON-ARAMIDE These boats mainly consist of carbon and Aramide fibres, combining the excellent qualities of carbon, which is very hard and gives the boat its stiffness with the qualities of Aramide, which is very shock-proof and provides the necessary impact resistance of the kayak. The biggest advantage of this construction method is clearly the incredibly low weight (up to 10kg lighter than HTP-boats).
