Paint the life model focusing on close-looking, improvisational shorthand and editorial intervention to establish perceptual hierarchy. WOODCUT WORKShOP WITh DAN MIllER Open to All Levels Don’t miss the opportunity to work with Dan Miller, a member of the PAFA faculty for over 50 years and a master of woodblock printing. Beginning with a printing demonstration and a slide lecture illustrating woodcut’s past history, Miller will lead students through designing an image, cutting the woodblock, and printing in black and-white and color. Attention will be given to equipment usage, paper selection and hand-printing techniques. Hone your own figure drawing skills in the region where the Italian Renaissance redefined the depiction of the human body in this study-abroad course in Rome and Florence! Explore the history of how the depiction of the human body evolved and developed in Italy from the 14th to the 17th centuries at museums and architectural sites of area. ART hISTORY: MODERN ART SINCE 1945   ONlINE Dr. Kevin Richards Examine the development of art in America and Europe from the end of World War II to the end of the twentieth-century, including Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Minimalism, Land-Based art, and other significant artistic movements. Analyze the aesthetic ideas that have informed the narrative and contested terrain around art since 1945, including the challenges to the ideals of modernism. Full payment is due at the time of registration. PAFA cannot prorate courses for late registration, withdrawals or missed classes.

For Pennsylvania & New Jersey K-12 Educators PAFA is approved to provide Pennsylvania Act 48 hours and New Jersey Department of Education Professional Development Credit for its courses and workshops. Courses and workshops are eligible for the number of contact hours for which they meet (excluding lunch breaks). Educators electing to receive PA Act 48 or NJ Professional Development Credit should notify the Continuing Education Programs office when registering. Please note, Pennsylvania educators must provide their 6-digit Professional Educator Identification Number.

Lab and Material Fees Please consult individual course descriptions for any applicable lab or materials fees. Late Fee Registrations received after 5 p.m. on their deadline date may be assessed a late fee of $25. Locker Rental Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $25. Locker rental is not available for weekend workshops.

Referral Discount If you are a current CE student and refer a first-time Continuing Education student, you both will receive a 10% tuition discount on one course or workshop within the current semester (excludes Master Classes). *Lab, materials and locker fees are not eligible for discount. A $50 administrative fee will be assessed per dropped course, $50 per master class and $15 per workshop.
