Wrapped
It
is a well known fact that house plants are good for you. Even NASA research has proven massive increases in air purity when a plant is present. ‘Wrapped’ takes it’s inspiration from the presentation of cut flowers in florists. The wrap has been formed from Corian, a resistant thermoplastic, providing a personal backdrop for house plants that are so often left in the corner.

Philip Hutfield
Having graduated from the City of Bath College with a National Diploma in Fine Crafts, specialising in glass, ceramics and fine metals, I have gone on to complete a three year degree course focusing on contemporary furniture and product design at the wellestablished but newly re-named Bucks New Uni. For me, reasoning can make the difference between a successful design and a design icon. As a designer I believe that a product needs a purpose before the design can be conceived. My designs take their shape from the properties of the materials and the manufacturing processes that I work with. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to DuPont Corian, Ercol, Counter Productions, Matthew Hilton, Isokon, Neil Austin, Alex Hellum, Karl Clerkin, Fiona Davies and Skip for the time, support and expertise they have offered me over the last three years.
