THE BRIEF: Using only sheets of white A2 paper, a cutting tool and a single word of more than 6 letters; simply make this word apparent. The beauty here, is the power of interpretation. With so little instruction, You will be able to do with this very open task what you wish, providing it follow those three rules. THE METHODOLOGY:
I realised that the key here to making this brief a successful one, was down to the word I choose, and if photographed in accurate context, I would create a very dynamic and exciting piece. I choose the word “HIDDEN” and created a 3D stencil and cut out the casted shadows so the word itself was not cut out, but part of it, to simply imply its existence . I then photographed it under objects such as a bed and then on top of material and surfaces to create movement within the word, thus giving it an abstract effect, making the word more difficult to see... “Hidden” to the naked eye.
EVALUATION:
Looking back at this brief, I am very confident with my outcome. I believe the context here, of where it was photographed and how abstract my photo’s came out, really helped my chosen word to have a greater meaning. I was , partically impressed with the final photo (bottom, left) as I believe the word has ryhthm and structure.

THE BRIEF:
You must create a (typographic?) manifesto, to describe to the viewer the type of graphic designer, you one day will want to become. It must be visually creative in design, unique, and consider what a manifesto is and how it comes across to create one that is successful. It must state values, and principles of belief and intent, to be read in a commanding tone of voice. automatically by the viewer
THE METHODOLOGY: I looked at exisiting manifesto’s, and how they are created. I wanted mine to be personal, so I wrote my name by name, before scanning it into the computer and live tracing in Adobe Illustrator. I looked at putting words into context to make them stand out and have physically meanings. EVALUATION: In conclusion, I am very happy with how this design turned out. I personally, really enjoyed making it typographic as it allowed me to be extremely free with my wording, and so, believe I met the brief as it is also read in a commanding tone of voice

THE BRIEF:
You msut produce a set of visual jokes., which must be either illusrtated, photographed or with typography as a visual. Aim to create unexpected connections between words, phrases and/or objects that need to be exlored and found. Aim to be witty, as John Ingledew has described wit as “cerebral acrobatics to a designer.“
THE METHODOLOGY:
I decided to look at creating a series of play on words., using everyday words such as “Do Not” and creating the connection with food to “DONUT”, as it sounds similar when said outloud, thus making the joke easy to follow. I then looked at a futher play on words, things we dont say often but is witty due to how we pronouce them.
EVALUATION: I was very pleased with the outcomes, especially “Cereal Killer” as I believe it was witty and exciting. However, if given this brief again, I would like to explore more to longer jokes, opposed to short puns.

THE BRIEF: Explore alternative uses for everyday objects. These must be visualised and then illustrated, photographed or altered with photoshop to show new and inventive uses and solutions.
THE METHODOLOGY:
This required me really becoming comfortable with various different shapes that I see everyday and asking myself what else they could achieve, if perhaps not realistic. I wanted to think outside the box and create something exciting so I looked at what else a hanger could hang, and then realised hangers, hold beautiful clothes for us, but we never let them out of the wardrobe, which then led me to explore what the could hang if they were on show - photographs. As for the glass, I wanted to create something unrealistic, as opposed to the first one, so I allowed it to become a fish tank as it is used daily for holding liquid, its also made of glass like a tank, however size is an issue.
EVALUATION:
Looking back I believe I could’ve followed through more of my initial ideas from my development stage, to have given myself more final outcomes, however I am very pleased with my final pieces as I believe they challenge the way we look at everyday objects in a fun, and light attitude

THE BRIEF: Create order out of collections, using your own methods of categorisation. Include things I personally collect, and look for patterns, interrelationships, gaps and oddities in your hoard. Dont be afraid to explore information graphics, as the collections will represent data. THE METHODOLOGY:
I looked at things I hoarder, and why I hoarder them, and even went onto explore what they hoarder from me. ie time, patience, etc. I arranged a compostiton but taking objects off of shelfs and stacking with what I hoarded, in this case, DVD’s/Books. As for the coins, I created a jumbled mess, as they are something that is added to everyday and has no point in maintaining organisation.
EVALUATION:
In conclusion, I was extremely happy with the outcome of this brief. I believe the words that I inputted proved to be very effective. However, if given the task again I would explore, photographing from above to show height (of the books maybe) to give an almost graph-like effect, to imply collecting data.

THE BRIEF:
Illustrate, photograph, capture what is unseeable in the real world. Explore different options, look at things we hear, feel, and even have by is unknown to the eye. Use your creative ability and imagination to be able to translate to a new audience without having to introduce what the illustration is supposed to be/represent
THE METHODOLOGY:
I explored a varitey of options, as seen in my sketchbook. to get my final 3 pieces. All illustrated by hand before moving onto Adobe Illustrator. The first piece, is of a creative brain, with many ideas represented by the shapes which never touch to imply they bounce back and forth off once another. The second represents a feeling of insanity, aiming to make the viewer question, what happened to make them feel like this - isololated and confused. And finally I illustrated what classical music sounds like. I listened to a track and with my pen, drew in time to the rhythm in smooth long lines. I then input in Illustrator
EVALUATION:
Looking back at this brief, I am pleased with my outcomes, especially my second piece of the mind of someone whom is mentally unstable as I believe it makes the audience really think, so that would’ve been my favourite. My least favourite would have to be the brain as I feel, now looking back, I could’ve possibly added more to it.
