As an artist I produce creative work that: - Celebrates, but is not limited to object or art making Model: Richard Holland and Duncan Mackenzie’s Bad at Sports - Considers economic class to be the determining factor of how and what people communicate Model: Ben Davis’s 9.5 Theses on Art and Class - Questions how art “functions” in the world symbolically as well as literally Model: Tania Bruguera’s Arte Util - Is adaptable across media and modes of production for the potential to circulate different communities Model: Caroline Woolard’s NYC Real Estate Investment Cooperative - Employs text-based printed matter and podcasting as pedagogical tools Model: Temporary Services’ Self Reliance Library project - Values research and process as product Model: Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE) - Views art as a form of packaging ideas Model: Tom Sach’s Space Program - Is sometimes playful and unexplainable Model: David Shrigley’s drawings 2016 - Incorporates collaboration with other artists in order to widen discourse and share resources Model: Cultural Reproducers’ Cultural Reproducers Event Series - Does not assume art institutions as the only or best venues for artwork Model: The Yes Men’s NRA Shares the Safety - Considers the artist’s role and the dissemination of creative work outside of the Art World industry Model: Mierle Laderman Ukeles as Artist in Residence of NY Sanitation Department
