When you were born, and we carried you into our home, we read to you.
Before you could sit up on your own and look at the thick shiny pages, we read to you. Over and over.
u Yellow - D
ck.
Blue - Ball. Red - Mitten.
A - Apple.

There were wagging tails,
moving trains,
and opening doors.
There was twinkle twinkle, hey diddle diddle, and hickory dickory dock.
And then you got bigger, and we laid in our bed, holding the book up over us for you to see.
And you would stare up at the pages while we read, together.
