Tips To Organize Your Old Photos
Gather All the Photos The first step for this would be to take all the photos in your house from their random storage locations and gather them up in a single location. Make sure to hunt through all the potential locations of these photos such as the closets, drawers, photo boxes, and albums, etc.
Distribute the Work Before diving into the organization process, you need to devise a plan for the same. This is a tedious task and it needs not to be done all at once. You can come up with a schedule that will distribute the task through a few days or weeks depending on the workload.
Categorize With all the photos in one place, you can easily come up with a comprehensive plan for the organization. The best way to do this is to formulate broad categories that each of the photos will find one to fall under. This can be anything that you find suitable as per the photos at hand such as family, friends, college, travel, etc.
On the other hand, you may have photos that you value than others. These deserve to be stored in a special way, away from the rest.
Separate Your Best Photos
They could be ones which you feel are exceptionally good looking, ones that have a special meaning to you or for any other reason that makes them of great importance to you.
It is advisable that you convert your photos into a digital format before going ahead to store them. This can be achieved by scanning the physical photos or taking photos of them using a smartphone or camera.
Digitize Your Photos
Digitizing your photos will also make it possible to back them up. You can create backups on your computer, external hard disk, or online and cloud services such as Flickr and Dropbox.
