Tell us a little about your educational background ? Where and what did you study? I studied International Business (BBA) in France and the Netherlands. As part of my study I had to complete two internships of 6 months each. I did my first internship in Nestlé France and the second one in Nestlé Indonesia. It was this experience in Indonesia that made me want to have an international career.

|ABOUT ME

Have you ever dreamed that you would be working in Pakistan one day? I did not specifically dream of Pakistan, nor any other country for that matter. However, my personal purpose in life is to constantly broaden my horizons in order to reach my full potential and be part of the solution, actively contributing to make the world healthier. So having lived and worked in South-East Asia, Africa and Europe, I was quite excited to get the opportunity to discover South-Asia.

How long have you been working here and how does it feel? Was it different from what you expected? I first arrived in Pakistan mid-2015 and I am really enjoying the diversity and richness that Pakistan has to offer in terms of history, landscapes and obviously food! Since I have been with Nestlé for over 20 years, I have come across many colleagues that either were from Pakistan or have worked here at some point of their career. They all spoke fondly of Pakistan and therefore, although my expectations were high, I have not been disappointed. What was the driving force that made you take this risk? I already talked about what motivates me in life and therefore coming to Pakistan was not a risk but an opportunity. I have

a curious mindset, passion and perseverance, which fuels my drive to push things beyond a static view of the world. In business I constantly question the norms and thus force change and as I like to emerge myself in the business, I can ask “what if…” questions in an inclusive manner, taking the whole team along and integrate the changes into the business culture. I believe that my working style is fitting well with the overall culture of Nestlé Pakistan and I am therefore having a great time. You must have a lot of duties but how do you take time out for your family? My family has been moving from country to country with me and has an equally strong sense of wanting to discover the best of each country we live in. Therefore, we spend our week-ends and holidays, going around old Lahore, Punjab and when we have a bit more time we go to Islamabad or the Northern Areas. My family’s favorite holiday in Pakistan was discovering Hunza. What do you do on weekends? What’s your favourite eating spot? As I answered in the previous question, I like to go around and discover Pakistan with the family, but when we stay in Lahore I also like to play golf, read books or watch a movie in the cinema. We also often try out different restaurants in Lahore in the weekends. There are so many restaurants that we usually try the ones that were recommended to us by friends. However, my favourite eating spot is right at home. Nothing beats an Indonesian meal with my kids, prepared by my wife. What challenges did you have to face in order to get to where you are now? While we love discovering new countries, I must admit that moving is always hard, both the constant packing and unpacking, but also emotionally every move is hard, as we always leave behind friends and then have to start all over again. Is this all that you have wanted in life or there can be more to achieve? There is so much to see, do and experience in life and I try to live it to the fullest. So while I am fully enjoying my time now, I am also eager to keep learning and hopefully contribute to making our world healthier. Because we can only truly be happy when we and the people around us are healthy. What would you like to say to our followers? I would encourage everyone to be optimistic and to partici-

pate in spreading “Positive Energy”. Let us all contribute in our own ways to making this world a better place for our children.

''MY PERSONAL PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO CONSTANTLY BROADEN MY HORIZONS IN ORDER TO REACH MY FULL POTENTIAL AND BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, ACTIVELY CONTRIBUTING TO MAKE THE WORLD HEALTHIER AND A BETTER PLACE.''

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? I visited three islands in Thailand; Koh Phanigan - Koh Tao and Koh Samui. Thailand has an amazing tropical climate where the days are sunny but not too hot which is just perfect for the beach and the nights are slightly chilly where you can enjoy your favorite hot beverage. I especially enjoyed walking by the sea, tiny streets with small food carts & mixing around with the locals who are very friendly and welcoming. Who did you travel with? I travelled with Maria Wasti. She is always up for the challenge of travelling with someone as difficult as me. Where did you stay?

travel diaries

We stayed at all the best places that we could find. The best one out of all was in Koh Tao, a hotel called Monkey Villa. It’s a combination of six different-sized cottages and villas constructed up on a hill from where the view is breathtaking. It felt like we were living in well-equipped 5-star caves. What are the best shopping spots there? I am not much of a shopper but I enjoyed street shopping from the buzzing streets of Thailand. Suggest some amazing restaurants there? PF Changs and The Observatory in Dubai Marriott. Also

the street food is to die for in Thailand. Tell us about the sights no one should miss out on Nangyuan Island, it’s just amazing - a ten-minutes boat ride from Koh Tao and you are in heaven with dry, white sand in a Y-shaped area with water on three sides and beautiful green hills around it. One can go snorkeling there or just swim in this beautiful crystal clear, blue-and-jade green water.

Finally, any tips? Life is too short, travel, see the world, get to know more people and places and you will find yourself, and understand how beautiful life actually is.

ARIES

birthdays Pisces are selfless, they are always willing to help others, without hoping to get anything back. Pisces is a Water sign and as such this zodiac sign is characterized by empathy and expressed emotional capacity. Their ruling planet is Neptune, so Pisces are more intuitive than others and have an artistic talent.

Misinformation is likely to spread like wildfire today, causing a lot of unnecessary upset either among your neighbors at home or your colleagues at work. Don't accept at face value any gossip or rumor you hear, Aries. Check the accuracy of the information yourself. If it does turn out to be false, as is likely, you'll feel sorry if you've had any part in perpetuating it.

TAURUS You're finally setting in motion some longstanding goals of yours, Taurus. Good for you! But even though everything is in place and you're ready to go, it's possible that you'll receive notice today of some delay in your plans. The frustration feels unbearable. But when you step back and look at the bigger picture, you'll see that ultimately this delay is in your best interests.

GEMINI

Saad Shahid Beenish Taimur

Samah Mudasar

Beware lawyers, bankers, and stockbrokers today, Gemini. One of them is likely to try and mislead you with some inaccurate information. While it might be in his or her best interests for you to take this information at face value, it certainly isn't in yours! Do your own research and get all the facts before making the financial investments recommended to you.

CANCER A family member or other loved one may not be telling you the truth. In this person's defense, he or she likely thinks they're protecting you by shielding you from the truth. This is a time for you to trust your instincts, Cancer. If you're told something that simply doesn't ring true, check the information yourself rather than accept it at face value.

stars

LEO You have an active mind and an even more active imagination, Leo. Today you risk short-circuiting your brain as you struggle to keep up with all the ideas and information swirling inside your head. Take a few minutes to do a mental inventory. Write down everything you're thinking right now so you can free some space in your brain for other issues. A long walk or jog would help soothe your mind.

VIRGO If a family member is in a bad mood but not confessing why, it's up to you to step in and help. He or she is carrying that big black cloud around, casting shadows everywhere they go. Do what you can to snap your relative out of it, although take care not to force the issue too harshly. Counseling might be in order, and this may not be your area of expertise!

LIBRA If a friend or colleague seems to be in trouble, you may not want to interfere for fear of being too intimate. But this isn't a time to hold back, Libra. It's likely that this person really does need your help. Your intervention will be much appreciated and possibly even rewarded. Be sure to get some rest tonight. You're emotionally and physically drained.

SCORPIO Your career may be sidetracked by petty gossip, rumor, and office politics. It's likely that someone is pushing forward his or her agenda without any thought or concern for its impact on others. Do what you can to put a stop to such shenanigans, Scorpio. There are times when it's appropriate to be the whistleblower, and this is one of them.

SAGITTARIUS Some bad news about your financial situation may not really be as bad as it first appears. Even so, it throws you for a loop. Double-check the information before spiraling into a panic, Sagittarius. It may be that a computer made an error or a bank clerk messed up. You may have to unravel some paperwork, but it will be a relief to have it resolved.

CAPRICON an unpleasant situation, your inclination is to protect your loved ones from the truth. This would be a mistake, Capricorn. Even though you're acting out of love, your family members deserve to know the truth even if it hurts. You can't shield them from the realities of the outside world. Most people, even the young, prefer to know the facts.

AQUARIUS You may be feeling tired and a bit wrung out today, Aquarius. Although you're a workaholic by nature, even you are forced to admit that this is a day to stay in bed. Give yourself these few hours to regroup and recoup your energy. You'll need to be operating at peak form for all the work that's likely to hit your desk next week.

PISCES There could be a missing person very much on your mind these days. Is it possible that the relationship is over and you're the last one to know? Don't let your insecurities get the better of you, Pisces. It's likely that your friend merely needs some time alone to sort out some big life issues. He or she will seek out your warmth and friendship again soon.
