alent resides in most of us but very few are able to realize it. Because it’s not easy! It needs courage and a will to swim against the tide and open yourself up for the world to judge. That needs support; be it business, sports, arts or fashion. For us, it’s a little more personal as we can relate to them. As a bank, we are 17 years young and more dynamic because we challenge the market and ourselves. And we’re naturally drawn to people who are talented and have the will to go after what they want, just as we have. The hard part is taking the first step.
Atif bajwa president & ceo
The Bank Alfalah Rising Talent program helps young talent take that first step and transform their passion into success. Bilal Hayee, Mohammad Rizwan, Anwer Ali, Hisham Malik and Adnan Sarwar are a few of many emerging talents that took that first step with us and we take pride in playing a small part in their journey towards success. We helped Adnan make his directorial vision - “Shah” - a reality and the film received phenomenal response. I am pleased to say that as of last week we have a new Bank Alfalah Rising Talent in the form of Hamza Bokhari. Hamza showcased a strong collection and won the votes of the public and jury. We wish him great success in the future. We found success in following the road less-travelled and we will continue to support those who have the courage to follow their own path. Let’s keep discovering and encouraging the potential of Pakistan and create new stories of success.
zarmis ha dar Zarmisha Dar’s “Gullistan” collection was a mixture of luxury, practicality and style. Shorter hemlines, cleaner cuts and intricate embellishments fused together brilliantly. Her colour palette, use of sheer fabrics with hints of lace definitely made a strong impact.
maheen ghani Maheen Ghani Taseer’s collection, dedicated to her brave husband Shahbaz Taseer, revived traditional design in a contemporary manner. Focusing on the rich legacy of our traditional fabrics, Maheen worked with velvet, brocade and silks to create voluminous ghararas and lenghas.
ham za bo k hari Hamza Bokhari's collection "Ruzzkiy Kukliy" traced the journey of a Babushka doll that travels through Pakistan. His use of tissue, velvet and jewel tones combined with intricate and well-researched embroideries and motifs really stood out on the ramp and he won the Bank Alfalah Rising Talent Award.

fai za s aq lain Faiza Saqlain’s design philosophy is to create luxurious and elegant clothing with heavy embellishments and detailing. Inspired by the time of the Elizabeth era when Queen Elizabeth reigned, Faiza’s regal ensembles were a fusion of eastern and western elements, with a strong emphasis on motifs and silhouettes from that era.

Inspired by the heavens, the HSY’s bridal couture collection was intricately detailed and extraordinarily feminine, which marked a return to a demure and softer color palette and silhouette reminiscent of HSY’s work of the early 2000’s, now re-presented in a context manifest of the wants and needs of the woman of today. It was one of our favourite HSY collections to date.
