Team Paperazzi headed over to one of the most talked about upscale cafes in town, Lals Patisserie. Passion for food shines through ever everybody, we loved this adorable café. P.s: their jazz playlist was really the cherry on top.

Clean & comfortable interiors

Team Paperazzi headed over to Esquires coffee in Karachi. They offer a wide range of dishes but we picked the chef’s special. We started with delicious coffee to their irresistible trio of Bruschetta moving onto their pasta and then to their cheesy smokin’ Joe burger. This place can change your day around. We absolutely loved the ambiance and still can’t get over the charging stations.

Did you stumble upon your career or was it something that you always wanted? Being an artist was always in my genes, My grandmother was a brilliant painter even without having attended school, I’m glad I’m the recipient of her talent. Even though my father was strictly for a business degree, being the eldest, it was very hard to break that notion. He saw how miserable I was doing numbers and being right brained, I finally graduated from NCA, thereon art and design has become my life in all aspects. What was your “aha!” moment? When I realized how important aesthetics are to everyday life. Did you ever consider or experience a career change? I design for lawn brands and style shoots as well but my heart has always been with a paintbrush, My 17 year old miniature painting brush resides still in my paint box; Its my lucky brush!

What are the top 3 things you cherish in your life? Happiness that grows. Yasir's partnership in all of life’s aspects (Because a Scorpio needs balance) and my babies, with completely opposing personalities and brilliant talent, I wish to encourage their intrinsic abilities and teach them to be un-ordinary. What is #1 thing that is yet to be ticked off your bucket list? Lots and lots of traveling.

“IN MY HUSBAND’S WORDS, I CAN DO ANYTHING, MOREOVER BECAUSE #MYFEUDALLORD-IS-AFEMINIST. “

When was time you felt completely discouraged and how did you push through it? Sometimes, like a writer, you go through that artist's block- where it manifests into more uncertainty, that’s when I keep being creative not just on paper, but with clothes and furniture and design spaces. That’s how it all started and I’m happy to keep on exploring and thinking of new ideas to apply myself to. What was the best advice that your mentor gave you? Not one to see me in a box, Yasir my husband keeps pushing and encouraging me to break my own limitations, he is my force truly, the reason I am still adamant on working five projects at the same time because in his words, I can do anything, moreover because #my-feudal-lord-is-afeminist.

What does nobody tell you about being the boss? Sometimes you really need to be tough! Describe a day in your life My hours are spent around work, kids, gyming, work again and playing with my dog, In complete disarray some of the hours of my day but I’m excited about breakfast (my favourite part of the day) when I hit the bed.

Complete this sentence: To me, a #BossLady is…” Being your maximum capacity human with regard to any aspect whatsoever. Which world leader would you most like to have dinner with? Politics bore me to no end, so snacking with Nietzsche or Bertrand Russel would be a dream come true instead. What advice would you give to young girls out there who have dreams and goals like yours? Always push yourself, never let people or opinions dictate who you are; you are your own breakthrough. Be around people who bring out the best in you, don’t fall prey to negativity.

Who is Bihamaal? An entirely insatiable earthling.

|ABOUT ME

Describe yourself in three words. Highly introspective, enthusiastic and occasionally sick of the world. Teach us something in 5 mins. You can tell a lot by looking at someone's body language and the words they choose to express themselves. If you pay a little more attention, you'll be able to know parts of them they didn't even know were obvious. Choose 5 words and ask them to tell you the first word that pops into their head. You build a connection instantly like that.

in conversation with

Bihamaal Zurqa She’s a highly talented, enthusiatic blogger, photographer , make up artists & illustrater Her work stands out and brings back originality to the world of Art.

How did you come about making these amazing illustrations? It was my way of expressing whatever I've ever felt. I was always a fan of surrealism, so one day I thought, why not? After having a go at some of my initial creations, the train kept moving. You are also a photographer, videographer, blogger and a make-up artist. Is there anything that you cant do? Find a cure for my insatiable and hard to comprehend thought processes that makes me pretty unbearable most of the time, perhaps because I like how unnerved people get when faced with the truth. Do you think people are born artists? Intrinsically, yes. Everthing is art. Every one is art. However, there is always a

need to polish the innate talent into a skill. Even a business man and an accountant is an artist. So I stand by the affirmation that one is born an artist, it's what you do with that creativity that defines you. What is your dream project? I'd love to work on something with Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter. The ultimate would be to make something so unnerving and revolutionary that it impacts society in the best way possible and brings back the hope in a brighter future that we've lost. As clichĂŠ as it may sound. I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. *cue imagine by John Lennon*

A message for Paperazzi readers? First of all, thank you for caring enough to read. We need more people like you. Secondly, artists need more support. If you've been following my work for a while or have just heard about me and by some miracle you like what I do, believe me there are so many like me out there who need a push and the support to achieve their goals. This was one of mine and I'd just like to say thank you and to please support the talent around you. Adios and dream big!

Tell us a little about your education? What have you studied? I've studied Film, Psychology and Sociology and Liberal Arts which basically means Philosophy, Gender, Literature, the works, in the course of 4 years. Where do you see yourself ten years from now? I genuinely despise questions related to the future because of the pressure submerged into them. However, if I look at my goals and my age, what exactly would I be doing when I'm 33 - I'd hopefully have at least two books out, my own clothing brand. I would love to have a say in the artist or literary community in Pakistan and somewhere abroad.. Are there any plans for starting a new project or brand? If yes than can you tell us a little about it? Oh hell yes! I'm waiting for the summer to create even more. A lot of barrier-breaking projects are coming soon. I have a poetry book in the works and a clothing line with limited products along with it. I also hope my side job, glasses venture, becomes the no. 1 retro glasses place to shop from in Pakistan! 2018

zainab salman

this week bushra mustafa styles four zainab salman outfits and makes them her very own!

This was my favourite outfit from the collection. I love anything with pearl details and accents of pink. I paired it with a fitted tulip shalwar so that the attention doesn’t divert from the stunning ruffle sleeves and the 3D flower embellishment in the shirt. My kitten heels were perfect for dressing up the outfit for an Eid lunch!

One of the most retro cut outfits! The perfectly tailored shirt fit me like a glove. I styled this outfit with a floral headband to give it that 80’s feel. I absolutely loved the details done on this outfit.

This top had a great mix of pastel hues and delicate embroidered motif which makes it perfect for lunches and teas. Keeping it classic I paired the outfit with my pearl earrings so the focus remains on the shirt.

Seeing hints of red in this outfit instantly made me feel the need to take out my red accessories. The beautiful kurta demanded me to keep everything else minimal and add a pop of colour with my clutch to keep the look effortlessly chic.
