meet the dream team We got our hands on a “dream” project. An exclusive interview of Faiza Lakhani of SecretCloset.pk and Maliha Aziz from Farah Talib Aziz about their new venture “Dream” a limited edition capsule of luxe sleepwear in premium light weight cotton, and adorable pastel summer prints for women and kids!

PAPERAZZI MAGAZINE
2018
FAIZA LAKHANI 1. What is Dream? DREAM is a delightful and exciting new project initiated by Secret Closet and designed by Farah Talib Aziz to bring designer luxury to sleep wear for the first time in Pakistan, for both women and kids. The fabric is a premium quality cotton blend, breathable yet luxurious to touch, and especially designed for our relentless summers. The digital prints are inspired purely by happy thoughts and a sense of whimsy which makes them infinitely appealing across the spectrum. 2. How did you come up with this business model? Pj's are no longer limited to simply a sleeping garment, having gained considerable style quotient as fashion has evolved and broadened to include laid back luxe as a popular trend. From celebrity street style to theme parties at home including birthdays, bridal and baby showers, Pj's have become an increasingly visible fashion trend in direct contrast to the extremely few brands catering to it.The options for children are even more limited with there being virtually no high-end brands available in the market offering quality sleep wear or attractive designs. We have taken great care to ensure our brand of sleepwear meets every international standard with regard to cut, fabric, and finish in addition to being fun and fabulous to wear. 3. Why FTA? We have always admired the softness and femininity of the Farah Talib Aziz label which we felt was perfectly in sync with the vibe that we wanted for Dream. Dreamy pastel flavours and a sense of confident modernity define the FTA woman and translate beautifully into this exclusive capsule collection of sleepwear. 4. What does "Dream" represent? DREAM represents the idea of being completely yourself, at peace in your own space and doing the things that you love and that make you happy whilst feeling comfortable and beautiful all at once. Be it having your morning tea/coffee, reading a book, doing your nails, or having friends over for a girls night in, hosting a slumber party for your kids, or simply falling asleep after a long day! 5. What is your perception of women in the workforce? The future is female! In my experience working as a social media marketer, I have come across women who are quite
literally amazing at what they do. Observing them I have learnt that women are exceptional at multi-tasking, they are an incredibly creative species, and they are brilliant at harnessing their passion to excel in their chosen profession. 6. What is your marketing strategy? We plan on marketing primarily though a well thought out digital strategy. We feel that Secret Closet has over time developed a considerable loyal audience spread on multiple online platforms and we are excited to introduce the Dream capsule to them through our social media channels and our e-store which we will be launching simultaneously on our website www.secretcloset.pk. 7. What advise would you give other women opening their own brands? I think we often underestimate the level of courage it takes to put your own name on a label and the work involved in growing that name into a brand. I have great admiration for women who exhibit such resolute courage, and equally great respect for women who support and encourage one another in their entrepreneurial endeavours. I think that is vital.
MALIHA AZIZ 1. Tell us a little about "DREAM" DREAM is a Luxe Sleepwear label by Secret closet in collaboration with Farah Talib Aziz. With a very pastel and fun palette, these PJ sets are definitely must have summer essentials which will instantly uplift your mood. So treat yourself to styles that feel fabulous to wear. 2. What made you collaborate with secret closet We have been working with SC for years now and when they approached us to design the prints for Dreams first collection we were super excited! 3. What kind of designs do you have instore for us? The prints are super fun and feminine! the colours are light and breezy, perfect for the summer! The designs are really whimsical, quirky, cool and summery! It is the perfect "Fun luxe meets comfort" collection. 4. Tell us how you feel about the launch of this brand? It really is something that has been lacking in the Pakistani market, to have a high end, luxury sleepwear brand and I am super thrilled to be a part of this collection! 2018

planes, trains & automobiles
Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? When it comes to travel I prefer to go to places that are a cheap mecca for shopping, have great food, are scenic with beaches and landscapes to enjoy and have activities and sights that are a story to tell. So I chose to go to a place that is a perfect blend of all these- Thailand. Easy on the pocket and a perfect little getaway. Who did you travel with? My travel buddy is my mom, she loves to explore new places just as much as me. We make sure we take out time from our busy work schedules once a year and travel together.
3-minute walk from the Bangkok Sky Train station Onnut. The hotel was called X2-Cross. It was fabulous with a glass exterior and a very modern set up. The service was incredible and the staff friendly and extremely hospitable. We were greeted with chilled Blue Lagoon to uplift our mood. The breakfast spread was incredible with tons of variety to suit our palette. The hotel lived up to its slogan “Stay, Chill, Enjoy. The rooms were the perfect set up to unwind, with everything from a fridge to a microwave, a hot plate and all the best amenities and MUSLIM SHOWERS (Haha) In Phuket I stayed at the Swissotel Resort Phuket Patong beach which was a 5-minute walk from the Patong beach. Its an excellent resort, great location and tons of eateries all around.
Where did you stay? On my most recent stay in Bangkok I chose to stay at a newly built contemporary hotel located in the heart of Sukhumvit, a

Tell us about sites no one should miss out on? The main places to see in Thailand are of course the capital, Bangkok city. It has the famous Grand Palace and the Reclining Buddha Watt Pho and Watt Arun Buddhist temples. Phuket and Pattaya are the most famous islands to enjoy scenic beauty, blue waters and cool coconut water to blow off steam. Water sports here like Jet skiing, snorkelling and parasailing are super fun. Big Buddha in Phuket are the most prominent Thai cultural sites. If you are looking to unwind, going to Phuket is a good idea. Scenic beaches with pleasant weather is always relaxing. The beach is a beauty at 6 am if you’re an early riser. Patong road is full of eateries and is lively with some popular cafes like Hard Rock
What can you do over there to relax and unwind? Go to the spas! Thailand is known for its spa services, a good massage never hurt anyone. Budget friendly excellent spa services are available at every nook and cranny of Thailand.

Suggest places for a perfect night out? The ChaoPhraya White Orchid River dinner cruise is perfect for a night out on a cruise ship that takes you on a mini tour of the whole Bangkok city. The dinner buffet is delicious, to add on to the beauty of the water and night setting they have amazing performers on board, live singing, dancers and more.
Any tips? Don’t take a tuk tuk if you want to be safe, travel on the Bangkok Sky train, it’s economical, fast and convenient and most importantly safe. Don’t carry cash or valuables to bulk weekend markets and beware of pick pockets. Bargain, bargain, bargain. Have lots of coconut water, stay hydrated especially if you’re going there in July or August.

Café. The nut shop in Phuket is very famous and sells a multitude of nuts as well as delicious healthy snacks like coconut chips, papaya chips etc If you’re a shopaholic then go to Chatuchak Weekend Market one of the biggest bulk weekend markets in Bangkok. If you’re big on theme parks, make sure to check out Dreamworld and Siam Park City.

must try and is a speciality. It is called the ‘Som Tam’ in Thai. This salad is sweet, salty and sour put in one platter all in the right amounts. Their crispy rice and peanut crackers are delicious and like nothing I’ve ever tasted. Siam Park City offers the best of these two in addition to some exciting adventure rides. Honey Lime like no other I’ve tasted! Malls in Bangkok have some amazing restaurants that serve delicious Thai food and much more. Eat tons of seafood. In Terminal 21 one of the best places is Manhattan Fish Market, they serve incredible fish and chips. In Emporium mall there is Café Fish. Some other good eateries are Santa Fe and Heads or Tails. If you’re in Thailand, this is a country with amazingly brewed Joe to make your days better. Try Coffee World, Tom & Toms, Coffee Town, Mister Donut and Heads or Tails.
