THE HARLEY'S

Tell us about yourself & your experience. I have lived most of my life in Karachi and spent early schooling days in Lahore. I had been affiliated with the corporate world for almost 20 years. Lastly, I was a CEO of a big multination company based out of Karachi. I have business academics and certified Six Sigma along with many international corporate trainings. I had been activly involved with different country chambers contributing in policy advisory for government of Pakistan.

response been so far? MashAllah, the response had been beyond our expectations. There is so much unexplored passion for motorbikes in our country. The heavy motorbike market was never catered before in such a professional way. We already had stores in Karachi & Islamabad and recently around 3 months back we opened a new store in Lahore. We believe this will be our biggest market catering to motorbike enthusiasts from all the cities in Punjab province. We are observing lot of passion from females in this hobby and strongly encourage them to come forward and join us.

T

What sparked your interest in bikes? I inherited this hobby from my elder brothers and cousins and from a very young age had been a bike enthusiast. In my teen days, I developed the passion for bikes and so far had re-stored many collector bikes. Even during my corporate life, I would always have few bikes with me and some ongoing bike project as my hobby. Tell us 3 things we don’t know about you? I am a very keen agriculturist. I am still working with the corporate world as an external consultant in developing business strategies and business development. Plus, I am a very good cook. What made you decide to bring Harley Davidson to Pakistan? I had been a Harley owner in Pakistan since over a decade and my passion for Harley kept growing when I used to see Harley Owners Group riders during my international travels. I felt the bikers community in Pakistan was badly missing these beautiful machines and that riding culture. The durability and the bike customization flexibility opens a new world for motorbike lovers. I realised that our motor bike enthusiasts should get exposed to this amazing Harley world. We decided to bring Harley motorbikes in Pakistan along with a very strong focus on bringing the complete HOG culture to built a social circle with like minded people from all age & class.

" WE ARE OBSERVING LOT OF PASSION FROM FEMALES IN THIS HOBBY AND STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THEM TO COME FORWARD & JOIN US." Does Pakistan have a large Harley community? Absolutely, at the moment there would be 350+ proud Harley owners across the country with new members joing in at a very fast pace. I have seen a sharp increase in Harley owners community in last 2-3 years, especially since we opened our first store in Karachi. I myself had been one of the pioneer HOG member in Pakistan. We now have very active HOG chapters in Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad. The HOG community across the country is very strict about all fellow riders safety. It’s an ongoing growing community of like minded people and we strongly encourage female riders to join us in living this passion.

Tell us about the distinguished gentlement ride (DGR)? It’s a global ride done on 30th September each year for prostate cancer and men’s mental health supporting the movember foundation fund raising. This year the fund raising crossed $ 6 million. The DGR was founded in Australia and now it’s carried out across the world in many countries. This ride invole riders across the world with participting on their classic & vintage style motorbikes and the riders will dress up in men’s draper astride and wearing their finest suits. What would you like to say to our followers? Life is short and one should live his/her passion.

I went for subdued hues with this stardust opulent layered dress. Its shimmery fabric brings out the best in this ensemble as it gives a very formal look. I accessorized the outfit with Kurt Gieger pointed pumps and matching statement earrings!
