2019
Did you stumble upon your career or was it something that you always wanted? I had always been on a streamlined corporate career path since college and was a banker for over a decade when we first started Secret Shoppers. Changing direction completely to begin something disruptive in the fashion industry had never been a part of my greater plan...it's something I stumbled upon but it's been the most exciting six years since! This has re-energised my drive and commitment to excellence. What was your “aha!” moment? This has to be - when without any investment in marketing or PR, Secret Shoppers received amazing recognition and response from not just buyers but international retailers and design houses. We are proud partners/affiliates to the top names in the fashion industry like Net-a-Porter, Judith Leiber, Farfetch, Matches Fashion, Sophia Webster, MyTheresa and many more. It is truly an achievement to officially work with some of the best in the industry and it really reinforces the fact that we have something strong and wonderful. Did you ever consider or experience a career change? The start of Secret Shoppers was unplanned and happened during my maternity leave from my very different corporate banking job. Although I had always been in client-facing and strategic roles, Secret Shoppers was an entirely new experience for me. It was unplanned but felt completely right
to take a jump soon! What does nobody tell you about being the boss? That it comes with overwhelming responsibility. Name one boss lady that you admire and how she still inspires you? Coco Chanel was a remarkable self-made boss lady. She knew how to take chances and persevere. Her life story inspires me to love my own work and believe I can create a change. Describe a day in your life: I start the day quite early to the hustle and bustle of a hectic school run - coupled with a briefing given by each global team of what has transpired during the night with work - given that some of our teams operate on different time zones. Our office timings start at 9 am sharp which is when Hina and I catch up daily to update each other on our different set of responsibilities and commitments. The rest of the morning is dedicated to ensuring the stock handling, marketing and PR teams are aligned with sufficient direction and content. The second half of my workday is spent supporting the query management team and growing/strengthening our affiliate network. Through this all, I also manage our VIP clients directly with any of their shopping. I try and pause work past 6 pm for some downtime with the children which includes homework and an early bedtime routine. The day ends with some quality time with my husband over dinner and tv.
"EACH FAILURE IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE AND ONE MUST LOOK AHEAD HAVING GROWN FROM THAT EXPERIENCE."
When was a time you felt completely discouraged and how did you push through it? Being an entrepreneur, I am quite emotionally involved with Secret Shoppers and therefore every small set back always feels like a lot. I depend on my brilliant partner, Hina, in such moments as she shares the same dedication to our cause. Her support and practical advice always get me through tough days. Being thickskinned and resilient by nature is something which is important in entrepreneurship.
What was the best advice that your mentor gave you? The best advice I've got is from my father who always says “this is all part of business”, he is the person I turn to when it comes to major setbacks and he is my mentor. 3 things you cherish the most: My very loving family, I'm grateful for my never-ending work and my circle of brilliant friends. What is #1 thing that is yet to be ticked off your bucket list? I have always wanted to go sky diving and am hoping I’ll manage
Complete this sentence: To me, a #BossLady is…” A boss lady is always leading the best team. I believe that true success is never achieved alone and it is always the hard work and dedication of a team that makes companies realise their goals and true potential. It's important to remember that there is no boss without a great team! What did you learn from your biggest failure? I have learnt that there are always valuable lessons in failure. Each failure is an opportunity to improve and one must look ahead having grown from that experience. Which world leader would you most like to have dinner with? I would love to have dinner with Imran Khan. It would be great to sit down and discuss the future of Pakistan and how I could contribute to helping our nation achieve greatness. What advice would you give to young girls out there who have dreams and goals like yours? Be your own strongest advocate, try harder and aim higher. Always remember that your productivity leads to a happier "you" which makes you a better mother, spouse and friend. 2019

Raza floated this idea and it came to fruition with all our efforts combined. What was your inspiration? The inspiration was to bring something to the capital that has art, fashion and lifestyle under one roof. The fact that a conceptual Pop-up has never been done before and we are bringing so many creative minds together.
Tell us a little about Popsicle. What does it exactly do? Popsicle is a pop up concept show. We are showcasing handpicked art, fashion and lifestyle products and making it into an interactive experience for our clients. Transforming your retail experience into something immersive and memorable. Are you planning to come to Lahore? We are planning to take Popsi-
cle all over Pakistan and overseas. How has the response been so far? We are getting so much love, appreciation and support from everyone. It’s very overwhelming and feels great! What obstacles did you face while starting it? I think just getting everyone together and getting our ideas turn into reality. But it’s all coming together now after a lot of hard work.
Who and what inspires you the most? These days everyone around us is so inspiring, We are learning so much from my team. It’s been a great experience. What would you like to say to our followers? The idea of Popsicle is to bring everyone together. Our motto is "Everybody's Welcome." We want to encourage other creative people to follow their passion because anything is possible!

Who is your best friend?
Mahnoor Sheikh. She also produces my music videos. What would you grab if your house was on fire?
I would definitely grab my phone and get out of there. What is your destination for the trip of your dreams?
Santorini, Greece. The place is magical and I really want to shoot a music video there. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grow up? And do you still want it?
I wanted to become a sketch artist since my sketching skill used to be great in school but since high school that passion vanished away and music took its place. If you got stuck in the elevator and was forced to listen to only one song, which would it be?
Chaap Tilak by Abida Parveen and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
Be consistent. That’s the only thing that can take you further to your life goals.

ARIES (MAR. 21- APRIL 20) Happy birthday, Aries! Love goddess Venus enters your healing and closure sector on Tuesday, so if you need to move on from a past or current lover, this transit offers a gentle release. Mercury retrograde ends as well, finally ending a period of headaches and hypersensitivity. And Mars moves into your communication zone on Sunday, helping you find the right words to discuss conflict, boundaries, and negotiation. TAURUS (APR. 21- MAY 21) Is your lover a friend too, Taurus—or vice versa? Venus beautifies your friendship zone on Tuesday, blurring the lines between the two. On Thursday, Mercury retrograde also ends in this space, helping you clear the air on conflict with friends so you can find common ground. Then, Mars enters your income sector—go fight for your worth and security, and get that raise! GEMINI (MAY 22-JUNE 21) Hey, beauty queen! Venus begins a beautifying tour of your career sector on Tuesday, helping you become more of an authority figure, and Mercury clears its crossed wires so you can implement what you’ve learned at work. Mars enters Gemini on Sunday, so be sure to advocate for yourself, your independence, and your freedom wherever you need it most. Flex those boundary muscles, and keep it all the way real with anyone who crosses them. CANCER (JUNE 22-JULY 22) International lover? Venus lights up your travel and education zone, helping your heart beat fast for the exotic and the intellectual. Mercury ends its retrograde in the same space on Thursday, so you can see what brilliance and wisdom you can contribute in the areas that need it. Mars enters your completion, healing, and surrender sector on Sunday, so you can lean on a spiritual practice to let go of fear and worry. LEO (JULY 23-AUG 22) Venus is electrifying your intimacy, erotic, and transformative zone on Tuesday. You want to bond deeply and sexually with another. Mercury ends its retrograde in that sector on Thursday, helping you feel more adaptable and comfortable with intimacy. Mars enters your friendship space on Sunday, which places you in leadership positions among them and could make conflict likely—avoid petty drama! VIRGO (AUG. 23 -SEPT. 23) Ready for romance, Virgo? Venus enters your love and partnership arena on Tuesday, helping you invite or deepen the intimacy you crave. Then, on Thursday, Mercury retrograde ends in this zone, so your optimism and efforts in this area will return swiftly. Mars moves into your career sector on Sunday, so assert your independence and worthiness at work. If you're confident, others will see that too. LIBRA (SEPT. 24 -OCT. 23) Does it spark joy, Libra? Venus slides into your Marie Kondo zone on Tuesday, helping you beautify your routines along with your health and wellness habits. Mercury ends its retrograde in that space on Thursday, so you'll get excited again about the details that facilitate big changes. Mars enters your international and educational world on Sunday, encouraging you to travel and learn more than you ever thought possible.
SCORPIO (OCT. 24 - NOV. 22) Courage, Scorpio! Venus moves into your outspoken, heart spilling, and confidence sector on Tuesday, so you can share the story of your heart. Mercury ends its retrograde there on Thursday, helping you apply new lessons to these efforts—perhaps when it comes to commitment? Be open to compromising with others. SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 23 -DEC. 21) Home is where the heart is, Sagittarius! Venus begins a homecoming on Tuesday in your tender space of family and emotional safety. Mercury ends its retrograde there, helping you see loved ones and home differently. Then, on Sunday, Mars sets fire to your romance sector, so you can negotiate with your lover. Think of conflict as a wish for closeness, not for separation. CAPRICORN (DEC 22.- JAN. 20) Put it in a love letter, Capricorn! Venus enters your communication zone on Tuesday, so speak your romantic truths to those who genuinely need to hear it. Mercury ends its retrograde in that sector on Thursday, clearing any writer’s block and verbal fumbles. Mars ignites your health and wellness arena on Sunday, helping you get your passion back for personal excellence. AQUARIUS (JAN. 21.- FEB. 19) Make it rain, Aquarius! Venus moves into your financial and worth sector on Tuesday, giving you the coin and abundance you need. The timing's perfect, because Mercury ends its retrograde on Thursday, helping you feel more secure around money. Mars enters your outspoken, courageous, and confidence arena on Sunday, so be sure to advocate for your authenticity and dreams. PISCES (FEB. 20-MAR. 20) You’re irresistible, Pisces! Venus enters your sign on Tuesday, making your efforts in beauty and romance triumphant. You’re turning heads everywhere! Mercury ends its retrograde in your sign on Thursday, helping you find the right thoughts, words, and ideas again. Mars sets fire to your emotional tenderness on Sunday, so you can reach for the situations, places, and partners that make you feel comfortable.
